Loosing a couple myself over the years I can say that I agree with Joe12 on this one. THEY are amazing survivors! You did all you can do, it happens to the best of us. Hold your head high for going after him, you did the right thing... Amazing how much a small branch can deflect a arrow. After shooting a bunch of test arrows through brush I have come to the conclusion that you need a perfect flight path for bow, IMO. After loosing multiple arrows shooting though brush I came to the conclusion the only brush I do not have to worry about is the leaves about a foot away from my prey. Otherwise I have to have a clear shot to prevent arrow deflection. Now get out thier and shoot another one!!! Looking forward to your success!!!

LMAO Funny how when I talk about killing deer, guys feel the need to say they have killed so many more than me... And how I am no great hunter, and that I do bird watching, lmao... That was a good one. And in so far as you shooting more deer than I have ever seen that is the best one yet!!! Guese you have killed thousands... Well lets see some of the deer you have killed, lets see some pictures. Stats. DO you really care what the other guy does that much??? I don't but you guys seem to care more than is needed about what the other guy does when he hunts... To each his own... Hunting is about enjoying the outdoors and stalking deer for me. Knicked my string last year while hunting with a broad head... bought a new bow this year and kept the old one just in case...

While I am all for getting the youth into hunting, he does have some valid points... He might want to look at the early bear season too because they will be in the woods at the same time with us bow hunters... Why you would have a BO army in the woods the same time as full camo bow hunters is, well baffeling to me... And yes I agree it is not safe by any means... Seems common sense to separate them so you do not have a guy in BO and another in full camo.

I am ready for the 27th, hopefully I can fill last years tag. I will still be in the ADK for opening day. Sep 27th- oct 2nd Bow is ready and good out to 65 yards with lots of practice!!! Spare bow is ready just in case I hit the string with a broad head like last year... Might hit Roscoe on the way home IF I get lucky before Oct 1st... One can only hope! Hope your toe heals John!!!

I have a guy who swears he does not need to shoot free hand and a box of ammo to sight in on bench is just fine... Then he tells me it's time for him to wash his clothes from last year, LOL... (Over a 1,000 $ suit) I wonder why you would spend so much money on something and then not take care of it for what is was intended... We all have busy lives and not everyone is interested in becoming a good ethical hunter...

What ever, now your a great hunter because you kill many deer. Now I understand why you want more tags... IF you are that pissed off about the restrictions send a letter, join a group or start a group that is against it. It does not affect me just you winy bitches who like to complain all day on a stupid internet forum... I am done with this post... Good luck this year...

Dec has been upsetting hunters since the start. No hunter wanted any regulations. Then they complained about the amount of legal time, then the amount of deer. We will always reject proposals that infringe on our hunting and some one will be pissed off at any change in regulations. I am sorry I pissed off so many unsuccessful hunters in the southern zone... 90 % Let me guese you did not get a deer last year? I have guys who whack over 6-12 deer a year down in the southern zone. They claim they can hit them over the head with a hammer... Tough hunting... But if you can not find and kill one well you need to take a hunting course then... Join a seminar... Learn more about what you are doing and scout some more and you will have better success. Don't be pissed off at me just because you are lazy and can not pattern a single deer... Make your own success...

1) Sorry I fixed my error before you posted... You talk like I do something differant... Just because I only go up 3 times a year or so makes me a bad person in your eyes, so be it... Show me all the bad advice I give people here... It's just advice on experiences, take it for what it is... Not everyone has the same experiences so dif people will have dif advice... Guese just because you caught a few spelling errors and do not like the fact that I am for AR and think my advice sucks just because I do not live upstate and only get to hunt 3 weeks a year make me a jackass and a moron, OK fine. 2)Yes I shot a 4pt Buck. My 2nd buck, I though he was a 6 and can not explain how upset I was. I passed him 45 min before but I am sure you will doubt this. As I am sure you doubt my rejection at taking this animal. After some deep though I changed my attitude about my harvest and enjoyed eating him that night. I am sure you prob think this is all BS and so be it... I hunt for adult bucks. I get to do this few times a year and can not explain how precious it is to me. I have fought over the fact that I do go for adult bucks with friends for hours over it's justification. "You are a trophy hunter" I am told... May be so but I can't help it... I never claimed to be a great or elite hunter, just knowlegable in certian area's with experience. Your everday "Joe hunter" who is passionate about hunting adult bucks. If you both still think that way of me fine, so be it... Let me know.

I agree but will probably get chastized for it... I see why people do not come back to these forums or post for the first time. (Sorry just venting...) After getting shot at last year I made the trip the 1st week availible to avoid any unwanted bullets. Hopefully this year will be better... Going deep for the weekend... With the exception of being shot at, always a good time... Sep 27-Oct 2nd.

1) FALSE just because someone believes in AR and that it would help the herd doe not make them think they are a ELITE hunter... That is your narrow oppinion and you are entitled to it... 2) So you do not see many deer on you property while hunting... 3) Did not know it cost more to not get a deer than to get one. But you are right some will stop hunting because of AR... 4) I am glad you said that and not me or Doe and skillet will hurl more insults... 5) If it is proven this is a fact so be it... AR has not been proven one way or another... I understand population control and advocate it, just don't let anyone know, shhhh. 6) Yes the bow hunters complained about trampling on thier time in the woods. How would you feel if NYS made it only 2 weeks for hunting. 1 for bow and 1 for rifle. Tell me you would not complain. Well guese what they did... Again it's always seems ok if it benifits you as a hunter, but take away a opportunity to kill something and all hell breaks loose. Do AR's really work, I am not sure but I let most deer pass anyway so these restrictions do not affect me... PS: I do not watch much TV, hunting shows included... Just because some one cares about having a mature herd and likes the idea of AR does not make me think I am a ELITE hunter... Just one who likes hunting adult deer...

Just because I pass a bunch of deer every year and do not decied to pull the trigger on a single one is my option... Simple enough... While I do no see that many up north, in the southern zone you kinda have to be a idiot not to get a deer... Or just suck at hunting... Again you seem to think killing deer makes you a great hunter, so be it...

Think I will join another bow hunter group. At least they seem to care about the animals, instead of saying I just need to fill my freezer... Yea, As a matter of fact I am going to try and make AR a state wide development. Yep. May be you should just move out of state... NFA GETSOME

Stay on your 30 Acher lot with you 35 friends and wonder why you never shoot (Or see...)a 8pt deer with every one shooting anything that comes down the pipe... WHine some more why don't you steve... Just because you want to say you hunt for meat and you can not find a deer with 3 or more points on one side does no mean you can not shoot a deer. If you suck at hunting and can not find a 3 pointed buck so be it... Do not blame AR for your lack of hunting skills... And in so far as me knowing about hunters, ahh yes you know me well. And for your info I have taken deer, but I am very selective... ALWAYS have been since the start. Just the way I am. Do I say everyone has to hunt like me, no that is just your narrow point of view... But if you say I am not hunting because I suck and can not find a deer over 3 point then I will quite, well so be it. Go take a nature walk and have fun... NYS does not need another idiot in the woods so QUIT if you don't like it... Otherwise QUITYOURBITCHEN!!!

I have had more chances at deer due to quades, bikes, cars, trucks and noisy hunters than all my other methodes... It seems to wake them up!!! Esp. if the weather was warm... I find sometimes that is the only thing that will get them moving. They could care less about me stalking and let me just pass them by when it's hot outside... My only 4 pt buck was due to a quad waking him up...
