  2. The fox will be back for it... Sneaky little, fox.
  3. Very cool Belo, congrats, loved the story!!! Enjoy that meal!!! Funny stuff Phade!!! I did that on a deer at 10 ft, complete miss... ARG... Luck favored me that week as my avatar buck fell 2 days later... But that walk back to camp was depressing... Persistence paid off! Congratulations Belo, hope this is the first of many!!! Boring story, NO, entertaining YES, THANKS...
  4. Nice esp. if you suck at long range shots!!! Think I will just keep my 30-06 for now... I agree with Geno it's about 22,000 $ out of my range.
  5. Saw the last part of the show the other day. Some cool stuff. Nice to see the whole show, thanks for the link!
  6. I don't watch to much TV. I would cut the cord if family did not visit but then I would have to entertain them...
  7. Welcome!!! Enjoy!!! Great Site!!!
  8. http://theweek.com/article/index/243852/3-reasons-americans-think-the-gun-homicide-rate-is-rising-when-it-isnt To think about everything else going on in the world, our president will not stop talking about guns. How about Mr.President you help out with: 1)Fuel prices 2)North Korea 3)Our economy 4)Unemployment 5)GOV spending: pathetic... 6) I could go on and on but I think you get the point... SO much of an agenda spent on worthless laws that will not stop any of these crazy people from killing, guese what the crazy people do not care about laws or what weapon they use. Ban guns they will use a knife, bomb, car or other weapon of mass destruction. Point is banning gun's or 30 round mags will not stop crazy or a criminal. Wonder how many years it will take them to figure this out. Wonder how history will reflect on the horrible politics justified due to multiple crazy people and yes I am talking about the ones in office.
  9. That contamination chamber... How much water does it produce VS How much used, and would YOU drink that water? Corn should be used to feed people and animals. Not for fuel, water is our most precious resource!!! Many other alternatives that are better, CNG, gas, electric/solar/gas hybrids. Sorry I just feel any contamination of underground environment is bad. It will seep into something, more than likely our water. No research is going to sway my opinion on that. And just because it is not in my town does not mean I will not be affected so I would not want it near me. To say water can never reach the level that they just drilled to seems kind of silly to me. Water can never reach a depth of 1000 ft? Give me a brake... To think of dumping thousands or millions of gallons of water and chemicals into the ground will NOT affect you seems kind of lame to me unless you do not live in the area, like an investor. Just seems illogical...
  10. If you can see good sign why not... I think like Elmo said, you would need permission from some if not all of the land owners depending on what part you want to hunt. Personally I like to explore when hunting, one reason I do not use stands that often... So close to home how can you ignore it? Unless the neighbors do not like hunting or no signs worth hunting. Good Luck!
  11. They want to warm up in the sun before heading out, lol. Good Luck!!!
  12. Welcome aboard! Nice of you to join the conversations!!! Great site, great info and even better people...
  13. Well I see the proud dad has him in full camo, I try to do that with my godson's! I can see he has the EYE already. Bet they get really wide when a real deer pops out! Ahh it is so fun to spoil our youth with the outdoors and all its glory!!! Grandparents always teach the long learned lessons of life and nature is one of best lessons to teach. Always nice to see our youth getting an early start, with help from the family, in the outdoors. God Bless
  14. Reminds me of my story telling friend who said "How big was your deer? 487 lbs ?" I laughed and said no 207, I should have said 587 lbs and went with it... Or the guy who claims to have shot over 300 deer in his 20 years of hunting... I said did you shoot over 10 deer plus, EVERY year? Ahh No... OK But that one year he nailed 7 on a farm made him the expert... Then he takes the spot I showed one of the other(slower) hunters for the week... LULU Having one B/S artist in camp is enough, omg if the two of them come up the same year I am in trouble... I think everyone knows some one who goes off in left field many times but these guys seem to just keep going out of the park... The internet is a play ground for them. Hence I say that deer is at least 160 lol... j/k Who needs a number if it's a trophy, weight and points are enough for me. One thing I will say is they can keep a conversation and usually make it interesting and sometimes bewildering... "LULU" That mental block your talking about doc is made out of Cement." Wonder how many will get that one, showing my age a bit. Funny, every once in a while when it looks cloudy I use to shout " OOOO!!! It certainly looks like rain tonight!!!" Have to do that again... CLASSIC Sorry I am posting so much but I can't shoot my bow lol... Hurt my shoulder shooting the bow too much. arg... And I just added a 80 yard pin, dam! Too fun, LULU
  15. That is funny cabin fever! As a general rule I never bring my keys in the woods with me. Try a belt clip, it will save your batteries and remote life. I like to bring a spare set with me with no remote due to... Issues... LOL Keep your keys in a vest or jacket pocket(anyplace loose) will work too. I was up on the "Hill"(Metcalf Mt.) hunting and around lunch time I could hear my buddies truck alarm going off due to someone leaving their lunch in the truck... Funny thing is I was just thinking how beautiful and quiet the Dacks are when this happened, lol and they wonder why I go in so deep... I think that was in 1995-96. That night I remember coming out in the dark about a mile away from the truck in a big swampy field with the moon light shining the field, I swore every stump was a monster buck bedded down... So much for that fantasy. Three separate signal locating shots were made to have my buddies locate me, this was before GPS but luckily radio's were in use. They swore I was on the other side of the mountain with my signals but I assured them I was not. Fifteen minutes later I saw them pull up on the opposite side of the field and made my way out of the woods. I stopped putting my keys in my front pockets and use a jacket pocket or the belt clip in the summer due to that dang panic button. Funny story Cabin, good luck this year hope you nail a nice turkey!!! Still laughing... Man that is just tooooo funny! Thanks for sharing!!!
  16. I don't think 50 acres is too much land to walk and scope out in one day. Especially if you check out terrain and satellite maps. You should be able to pick out many(or at least a few) spots, when you walk the property you can set up your scouting cameras and then determine the best spot to set up after previewing the pictures. If you are in deep woods I would key in on any viable food source along the paths you discover well used. Otherwise I think Doc summed it up!!!
  17. This link shows the same drop or tilt when this guy takes a shot... Shot is taken just after the 6 min mark...
