  1. Wow, I never would've thought that. Are they more sensitive to lead than other animals? Or will anything get sick from a piece that size?
  2. I'm guessing they don't eat whole slugs, but fragments that are throughout the meat?
  3. How much lead would it take to kill one of these birds? Is eating 1 bullet enough to cause trouble?
  4. Fallow deer meatloaf & baked sweet potatoes.
  5. That's the guy. He did a deer for us this year & made mild italian, too. It was in bulk. Not sure if he does links.
  6. Charlie's in Webster. He makes great sausage. 585-944-5446
  7. I've seen this in reds & greys alike. I've always wondered too. Lots of possibilities I bet. Like a close call with a hawk, fox, or some other predator. Maybe it broke when he caught it in something. Maybe it even froze. A lot of them have a hard nub at the end where you can tell it healed over.
  8. Bubba: Posted 14 January 2016 - 07:01 PM "Ruined is sduch a strong word. So the guy strolled in and moved birds out. If that is all it takes to RUIN your hunt, then you do not know what a hunt is about. Granted, I would have been disappointed, but In would have been thankful I had the time out in the woods." Bubba: Posted 15 January 2016 - 05:04 PM "So all you had is a typo? Not hot air at all, it is reality. A hunt is ruined by a guy walking onto you public land is quite simply whining. If that ruins your wholehunt, that just shows the superficial side of you. Buy a big chunk of your own land to avoid the dramatic ruination of your whole outing" I'm not looking to Piss in your Wheaties Bill, but I'm not seeing where Bubba did anything wrong, that could possibly warrant you wanting to leave the site. He posted his opinion, which you didn't agree with. In your response, you chose to rip on him about a grammatical error. Following that, Bubba still didn't sink to that level, but simply posted another comment showing his personal opinions. The little bit that he snapped at you was justified, in my mind. Not sure why you got so upset. Don't dish it, if you can't take it.
  9. Like jjb said, not warm water. Fried bullhead is killer. Never had it in chowder.
  10. First Fox squirrel! I've been dreaming of getting one since I first heard about them, as a kid. I can't believe how big it is. Got him with my Grandpa's old Winchester model 12. This one's going on the wall, next to the big Grey & the Black. Stoked!!! Sorry pics are upside down.
  11. Haha. JK. Have a safe trip, Biz.
  12. Better some obnoxious pr!ck from Westchester?
  13. Yeah, because that would happen.
  14. We can't all be literary scholars, like yourself. Thanks for dumbing it down.
  15. Non violent?!!!! Are you kidding? Who was talking about blacks or Ferguson, anyway? Great lib tactic there, throw the race card, then stand back & pick off the "racists". Here, I'll make it easy for you: Michael Brown had it coming.
  16. I didn't dodge it at all. I guess you're pretty dull yourself. Here, I'll spell it out for you. Black community response that you speak of: Ferguson. Regardless of the issue, I don't think there's anyone who can honestly say that was a better way to handle things, than the peaceful occupation in Oregon.
  17. Or riot like animals. Burning, & vandalizing a city. Wait, that sounds familiar.
  18. Hey, hey, hey. Why you gotta be like that?
