  1. I fish Naples creek pretty hard every year. My rig is an old fly rod (not sure what weight, but it's pretty heavy) & a spinning reel spooled with Trilene XL 12Lb, in Lo-vis green. That line is pretty hard to see, but this year I'm going to add a fluorocarbon leader to see if that increases the strikes. On a side note, the trout are already way up the creek. I saw them way up in the woods last week, where the water is only 2 or 3 feet wide. That's not good. I'm afraid they'll be done spawning, & gone back to the lake by the 1st.
  2. Great post, Grampy. Says a lot. You "get it".
  3. "Don't get sarcastic with me". LoL. Keep it up Rob, & you're headed to the office, mister.
  4. I really like copper. I have one made by Loyalty Outdoors, & it sounds great. My favorite call is a Primos power slot. Simple to use, & proven many times over.
  5. Awesome! & congrats to your buddy for coming out!
  6. Does getting married count? Dumbest and most expensive diy mistake I've made. "I love her, you guys don't understand"
  7. You claim to" not be in this", yet you're clearly against lead bullets. You're posting a lot for someone who seemingly just started a thread to stir the pot, then stand back and watch the fallout. Issue aside, your tactics & attitude are arrogant, and clearly show your disdain for those who you consider less enlightened than yourself. Kind of a pattern for you.
  8. I have the Excal Matrix 310. It's got a 200# draw. I don't feel undergunned. I agree with you 100% on the recurve being the better design. I've heard nothing but problems about Barnett, from a couple dealers I know. Don't buy something you don't want, & it sounds like you don't want a compound crossbow.
  9. 94! That's a hell of a run, good for her!
  10. It can also be double cost, if the zone has a sign saying "Fined doubled". We put those signs out sometimes. Often, a trooper will tuck himself right into our zone & hide behind a truck, then wait for a real a$$h*le to fly by. They've been slamming people for not moving over, too. It's amazing how close cars will get to us, but as soon as they see a cop in the zone, they're scrambling to move over.
  11. In all fairness, there were probably still some of these hanging around when you were a kid.
  12. BAWANA59 is banned. Contest cancelled.
  13. Great way to end the season! My heart was pounding like it was a 10 point. A little windy, but they seem to be out. Wish I could rotate the pic, sorry.
  14. Biz, your jealousy is showing.
  15. Insert "old" joke here. Too easy, Pygmy.
  16. I love sardines in oil! I like to dump the can in a small cast iron skillet, & brown it, then eat them on triscuits. Don't cook it in the break room at work though. Seriously.
  17. No worries, the dow seems to be taking care of removing itself.
  18. Mike, the NRA member paying his minimum dues, does as much for sportsmen as you do. You keep defending our right to kill doves, & we'll keep defending your right to bear arms.
  19. How about you stop throwing a tantrum, & acting like a little kid when someone disagrees with you? Any chance of that? Nah.
  20. Here's a deal. You join NRA, then you can do something, like the rest of us.
  21. The 2nd amendment wasn't written with hunting in mind. Hunting just happens to enjoy protection that the amendment offers it, as a by product.
  22. Not fighting for the gun culture, shouldn't be an option. Your cartoon is flawed. Gun ownership is way up. Not only do more people own guns, the group is growing more diverse. If someone wants to buy 100 guns, it's no one else's business. There's no excuse for not belonging to the NRA, SCOPE, GOA, etc.
