Jennifer, You're right, most people respond to antibiotics (but not all do) and there are three tests. I feel for your situation. I agree that most Dr's don't know much about it which means that those of us in the woods all the time need to be self-educated. Thanks for the correction.

I have to echo Dom's words. Lyme's disease is easily treated and only requires a simply blood test. If you start feeling flu-ish and been in the woods a lot, ask your doc to do the test. You never know when one might have bitten and then fallen off. I had one on my head and didn't know it for a few days. About 5 years ago I had a tick bite in a very delicate place. The tests said no to Lyme's disease, but I had flu-like symptoms for 2 weeks and Bell's palsy on top of it. DEC says Lymes is on the rise here too. Just my two cents.

Not to be contrary, but I am not sure where you found this out. I'm a MT native and going back next year and didn't see a change in the rules. I checked the FWP website and it still had them as a draw. Where did you hear this?

still a few days away for us on the other side of the state. I was hunting in TN once when I had a doe pawiing and snorting for like 10 minutes. It was the longest 10 minutes to stay still I ever did. In the end she walked away with her two fawns. I hope she didn't wind you at 40 yards, might need a bath or Scent-away.

Only 12 more years of saving and hopefully I'll be there too! I'm very jealous. Africa is at the top of my bucket list.

Here's what I learned: 1. Do not shoot a 20 yard target with a 40 yard pin. 2. Mountain lions don't kill hunters, buddies who think its ok to climb the tree to the target get your arrow and then throw it at you when you aren't looking do. 3. If your buddy is overbowed, don't stand near him when he draws back. 4. It is not ok to take a phone call when walking through the woods. 5. You can shoot an arrow without a nock, but accuracy is greatly diminished. 6. As long as the target does not move, gives me time to range it, ask my buddy if he could stop talking on the phone, and then lets me shoot, I have a 35/36 chance of killing it.

Bowhunting (which is 80% of what I do) I will bring a bottle or bag. Like the guys said its a nice hand warmer. If I'm gun hunting, I usually do the same but if I move from a spot I go there and then move on down the trail.

I have a 7mm that I have used on deer. It's a pretty flat shooter, so I think anything over here would be great. If you are thinking of using it out west, I have opinions on other chambers I think are better suited.

After calling an ECO here is what I found out: If you shoot a deer (doe or buck) that is legally antlered (3 inches plus) and you don't have a tag for it (antlered buck): You have just shot an illegal deer that is a misdemeanor and $2500 fine. However the ECO has discretion in the matter and they suggest you report it. If you shoot it and let it lie, the fines are thousands of dollars and loss of licence. If you shoot a deer (doe or buck) in an area with AR that is smaller than required, it is only a $250 fine.

Like Doc, I don't even look at the covers. Still, I would like to see more "picturesque" scenes like they had back in the 30s and 40s on the Field and Stream and OL.

I use coon urine as a cover scent and wash all my stuff in some scent killing detergent. Does it work? IDK but for $30 a season, its worth it to me to give it a shot. What I'd really like to know is if that Ozonics that puts out O3 works or not? I know when I used to work in the hotel buisness we would use an ozone machine to get cig smoke out of a room and it worked really well. But at $200+ price for one I'm not gonna try it.
