  1. Good stuff as always! Looking forward to start filming mine on 10/1.
  2. Let me know if you need a venison eating partner! LOL!! Unfortunately I didn't fill my freezer this past season so I have plenty of room . . .
  3. Awesome!!! I'll be in my stand October 1st at 6AM. Anyone else???
  4. Dom you made me remember this one: "It's as cold as a witch's ti*ty in a brass bra".
  5. Here's my $1worth: The range may be liable depending on whether or not they did everything reasonable to prevent trespassers from entering the property. i.e. fenced it off, posted etc. Every town or county has their own regulations on what a shooting range needs to do to warn outsiders. In the area of negligence it's called a "duty to warn". Now if the range knows there are trespassers that enter the property on a continuous basis, and they don't do anything to prevent them from entering the land other than posting signs, then the trespasser can sue the range. However, the fact that he/she is a trespasser will still weigh heavily against them. All I know is if I am walking the woods and I see a sign like that, I will skeddadle out of there! Don't want to get shot in the a$$!
  6. Nice pics! Looks like your girls enjoyed it. I wish I can get my 15 yo daughter to join me in the field. She's too busy with looking and thinking about boys. Oy vey!
  7. Yeah I remember that one too!!! Dom came up with that one!
  8. I came across some of these sayings this weekend. Anyone ever hear them before? what the old folks would say if they hadn't seen you in awhile : "Man I thought you fell in...." Cheap person: He's so tight, he squeaks when he walks.'... Dumb: "He couldn't cut his way out of a wet paper bag with two butcher knives"..... Sweating like a whore in church! It's so dry that the fish have ticks! And some more..... Cuter’n a speckled pup under a red wagon!”Ice: “Slicker’n snot on a door knob!” or “Slicker’n greased owl sh—!” Unintelligent: “Put that boys brain in a hummingbird and he’d fly upside down and backwards and suck a mule’s a— for a morning glory!” Summer weather: “It’s hotter’n a ‘leven dollar cook stove!” Winter weather: “It’s colder than a well digger’s a— in Idaho!” Penny pincher: “He’d make Lincoln squeal!” or “Three turns tighter than tree bark!” Age: “Older’n Methusalah!” or “Three years older’n dirt!” ‘It was so quiet, you could hear a mouse pee on cotton!’’ The (water/snow/whatever) was belly deep to a tall Injun!’’ That ol’ boy is so crooked, when he dies they’ll just screw him in the ground (in the dark)’Madder’n a wet hen!’’Wilder’n a March hare!’’ He was so ugly as a kid, his momma had to tie a poke chop around his neck to get the puppy to play with him!’ ‘ He was so ugly he has to pull the sheet up over his head so sleep can slip up on him!’
  9. I wonder what kind of looks this redneck gets on the road?
  10. They go on sale in mid August.
  11. I live in a community of homes that runs a private pool for those families only about 30 homes. Cost is $450 per famiy for the season. Memorial day to Labor day. Its right down the block from my home and hardly anyone goes there. Best investment I made 20 yrs ago. No need to worry about maintaining it.
  12. I've been following this thread from the start and it was an interesting read but the last few pages read like political mudslinging. Enough with the insults. I'm always up for a good debate and It's ok to disagree and make valid points but stop the nonsense.
  13. I have the iPad 2 which I'm constantly using. Works great with this site. Would be nice if I could upload pictures directly from the iPad onto the site rather than using photobucket.
  14. Hey can we vote on who wins the award? LOL
  15. I think it has a lot to do with the "It's not going to happen to me", mentality. This is just as true for people who choose not to wear seat belts in cars because they are "just going down the road". Little do most people know is that most car accidents occur within a mile of your home.
  16. You are 100% correct Grouse As sad and tragic as this story maybe, it is absolutely necessary to figure out why it happened so it doesn't happen again.
  17. Thanks for the great tips Sam. I have a spray in the garage that I used to kill wild violet that was growing in my lawn this spring and it worked. I think it contains 2 4-D.
  18. Is Amine sold in places like Home Depot? Also are you saying to literally wipe the roundup on each individual stalk?? That sounds like it would take me days to do. I'd rather use something I can spray on it. I have not found any in my grass. They tend to grow between my Hostas and packasandra. The pictures are from my neighbor's property. The stalks are essentially creeping their way onto the edges of my property. So I'm not concerned about getting it on my grass and killing it.
  19. I think Sam is right. Here is a better closeup picture of the weed. Spent the morning yesterday going around my property and pull these suckers out. Where can I get 2-4D?
  20. News12 interviewed one of the operators of the boat. http://www.news12.com/index.jsp He claims it was a "rogue" wave that capsized the boat. Really a Rogue Wave on Long Island Sound?? And overcrowding the boat had nothing to do with it . . . yeah right! This guy has to live with the death of his nephew for the rest of his life.
