I got my Remington 710 30-06 used at Campsite in Huntington. I love it! It's taken down several deer. Packs a nice punch.

Im on the North Shore Nassau County, but I hunt up in Germantown NY Where in NC you at? I got a place outside of Asheville.

Didn't go up. Decided to stay home today on LI. Pretty windy here on island. I'm hearing gusts up north to 30-40 mphs

Well I was doing some yard work and as I was reseeding I stepped on a retaining wall and right foot gave out on moss growing on wall. Caught myself on chair but right foot landed and twisted it. Ankle ok just top of foot. Laid up now with ice on it. Taught me a valuable lesson. "Don't do yard work in Birkenstock sandals". Really sucks!

Weather in my hunting area - Germantown 4Y weather - I'm gonna pass on this weekend. Heading to range instead. Planning to go up the next two weekends. Tomorrow: Windy with showers. High 62F. Winds SW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 40%. Tomorrow night: Windy. A few showers in the evening then clearing overnight. Low 48F. Winds SW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 30%. Sunday: Intervals of clouds and sunshine. High 66F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Not worth it if I were to go, take a shot and risk wounding a deer. Now if it was rifle season, I wouldn't hesitate to go.

I hear you. The Italian side of my family (my spouse) is the same way. We head out in the early AM. Come in for lunch about 12 for a nice spread of roasted peppers, home made pizza, goat cheese, homemade bread and some homemade wine. Then we head out again around 2:30 to be in our stands by 3pm. We never had a problem with drinking as long as it is in moderation and you leave plenty of time for any effects to wear off.

Hopefully that will be happening soon enough!!
