  1. I carry 5 arrows in my compound quiver . Two have target points . After sitting a while in a stand , I pick a clump on the ground and shoot one of the target arrows . I also shoot a few times at the backyard target on occasion . No need to do this with my crossbow .
  2. I enjoy Bow Season over gun season . If Full Inclusion happens , my compounds will collect dust and I will strictly use the crossbow . No more practice . Just shoot a half dozen bolts to check the scope out and I'm all set .
  3. I have been using PayPal for years . Seems like the safest way to pay . I use it mostly for EBAY purchases .
  4. I reference to Steve D's post The police officer fired 17 times and hit the man once in the foot and once in the chest. . The officer needs some serious range time !

    Roadkill

Most Highway Crews don't pick up the roadkill . It is usually sub-contracted to an individual or company . They in turn wait for enough reports to make it worthwhile to go make pickups in their designated area . Otherwise , it isn't profitable .

If the deer were smart , they would use the "Deer Crossing Signs" .......
  7. I found that the accu-trigger takes some getting used to .
  8. I thought Growalot was the only one who used Kindle ......
  9. I bought a crossbow to use for the two week period just to stay on an even keel with the other deer hunters . Why use one of my compounds when I can take the easy way .
  10. I have a Savage 220 and it is accurate > The Remington accu tips shoot great .
  11. I have a Crossbow and voted Against Full Inclusion ........
  12. I wasn't seeing many deer during Bow Season but I was getting night time pictures on the trail cams . When I hunted a Mendon / Victor property , I saw does at a distance and had 4 opportunities to shoot some 4 point bucks but passed them up . Never took a shot during bow season . It seemed slow during gun season . I took head on shot at what I thought was a doe . It was about 140 yards and just walked off . I thought I had missed and waited a few minutes before getting down . It had gone into the thick stuff and I found blood and started tracking . My oldest son was sitting in a double stand on the West side of the woods . Right after I went into the thick stuff , I called him and he said 4 deer had hauled butt out of there and ran through the East side of the woods and met up with another 5 deer in the back of the woods . The deer are out there . The have evolved into smarter animals . They know enough to hide during the day . I remember when I 1st started bow hunting and the deer never looked up . They sure do now . There are plenty of deer out there . They have just gotten smarter !
  13. Have a few limbs down in the back yard . 2 to 4 inches of snow forecasted for Ontario this Friday .
  14. Take a ride on some country roads and you will see deer all over the place .
  15. My son , Nick , lives on County Rd 33 just south of Ganyard Hill Road . He has deer bed down 60 yards from his front porch and can't get to his stand because the deer are laying there . He has trail cams but none are out . I told him to put up the cams and see what time they show up or leave . At least try to pattern them . Saw several deer on Egypt road between Co road 33 and Rt 32 .
  16. My wife and I went to my youngest son's home for dinner . We took a 13 pound ham . My son's in-laws were visiting from Venezuela . Nick and I took a walk around his property as I plan to help him remove some dead trees and brush and clean things up . I plan to take two chain saws and he has a loaner but has never used one . We saw an awful lot of deer droppings on our little trek . Anyway , when my wife and I left we counted over 40 deer in various fields on Route 32 between Ganyard Hill and route 64 . At one point I had to stop as a couple deer were starting to cross the road but went back into the ditch . This is down in WNYBuckhunter's neck of the woods . It was great to see so many deer out .
  17. I got out my Parker Phoenix bow yesterday . Put a string loop on it and shot 32 arrows . Wasn't grouping and need more practice with it . It is set at 70 pounds so it should make my 60 pound compound easier to draw when I shoot that next .
  18. One of my daughters and two of her kids went to Mass with us this am . She and my son in law were married on April 1st 29 years ago at the PLanetarium (sp) in Rochester . She wanted to get married on April 1st and he wanted to get married under the stars . They both got their wish . My son in law died of cancer 6 years ago . He never made it to 50 . April 1st is still an important date .
  19. Happy Birthday ! havn't heard from you since last November . Is everything okay ?
  20. That is darned good for that distance ! There are a lot of archers that can't do that with a compound !
  21. Since "Puppet Boy" Hogg has stepped into the arena , he should be treated as an adult . If he can't run with the big dogs , stay on the porch !
