I heard minimal shots in 8F and 8H . None of the blasting of shotguns like years ago . My 223's are my woodchuck guns .

Happy Birthday ..... Have a great day !

I have purchased 380 ammo in two different Big Stores and was not asked to see my pistol permit .

Crosman Airbow, $849 air-powered arrows @ 450 FPS

Lewis and Clark took an Air Rifle with them when they went to the Pacific North West ....... https://youtu.be/-pqFyKh-rUI -
My gripe in using a 223 is that ,in the right hands it is quite capable of killing deer cleanly . But then Joe Blow hears that someone kills deer with a 223 and thinks it's okay but he can't hit a barn from the inside with the doors closed . Not all shooters are equal if they don't practice a lot .

A bow doesn't have a gun stock or safety ............. -

So what do you call something with a gun stock , scope , trigger , string and limbs ? -
With the price of gas gone down , maybe I will start making trips to Walworth in the spring and shoot some Chucks . I kinda cleaned them out a few years ago but havn't shot any in about 4 - 5 years . Besides that I need to sight in my Savage shotgun and check out my 25-06 . I don't shoot enough !

It looks like a crossbow without the string and limbs . -
I do some reloading for myself and my sons . Cut and refletch some new arrows and shoot during the summer . I used to shoot woodchucks for farmers and may start doing that again since gas prices have dropped . I do a little Geocaching and sometimes play around with the metal detector . Between January 1st and October 1st I try to catch up on the "honey do " jobs .

No fooling ! You brought up the bit about "the Challange" . Why not just make the 22 legal .
-
Wow ! That thing looks like it should be under the hood of a muscle car !

Happy Birthday kid !

I have shot several deer with a 25-06 . They didn't go anywhere but down !
-
Why not just go with a 22 hollow point . It's the same diameter ( .224 ) as a 223 . Just less speed and a lot less noise .

I wouldn't pay $1000 for any Remington !

In the wrong hands , it is a terrible cartridge !

Congrats ! It took me 5 kids to figure out what was causing them ......

My Weird Bermuda triangle Type Poltergeist deer Hunt
fasteddie replied to nobody's topic in General Hunting
I am finding this story hard to believe ...... A lensatic compass should work anywhere unless you are in a steel building . The neck isn't 4 feet from the lungs / heart ( kill zone ) . If you hit the deer in the neck and hit 4 feet from where you aimed , you must have been aiming at the deer's butt ! Expert marksman ??? Must have been hunting in the Twilight Zone . Just my opinion . -

I am going to wait a few days before pulling my cameras to see what has survived the hunting season . -
Anyone tried these Stands?
fasteddie replied to peepsight's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
You got it nyslowhand . I put up stands alone myself and that is pretty much how I do it . I make sure the ladder brace is attached also so the ladder doesn't bow when climbing up to secure the seat platform . It's a bit scarey to climb up without using the lashing ropes so I don't do that anymore as it is really an unsafe practice .
