Got a call last night from a farmer in Webster . I was talking to him last spring and he asked me if I was interested in using a Damage wildlife Permit on his property . I told him that I was interested so I stopped by this am and picked one up . I had to sign some papers and he showed me a map of the properties involved . I was hesitant at 1st but figured if I get my foot in the door , I just might be able to Bow or Gun hunt his property .

Farmers can't get into some fields and tend their crops as the fields are too wet for heavy equipment . May cause food prices to go up . Some crops will probably suffer from mold .

Pro Shop near Rochester-First Bow-need help
fasteddie replied to Dr Ignominious Death's topic in Bow Hunting
My youngest son went to Traditions Archery in Henrietta and didn't like it . My son works in Henrietta but wouldn't shop at Traditions . He went to Heritage Archery in Phelps and bought a Matthews bow with all the trimmings . He likes their service and was quite happy with them . Some of the small shops have closed up which is quite a shame . I had taken one of my bows to Trophy Taker Archery . Dave did a great job and was reasonably priced with his work . He closed shop . I went to a bow shop in Williamson and would never go back there again ! Has anyone had any experience with the Bow Shop in Bloomfield ? -
I used to shoot starling and pigeons with a BB gun . When I was 12 I shot woodchucks with a 22 that i put a makeshift rear sight on ( uncle had run over my Dad's 22 - cracked the stock and broke the site ) . Bought a used Marlin 22 lever action from Hughs Sporting Goods Store in Dansville when I turned 14 for $35 and I still have it .Walked all over Groveland Hill shooting chucks for farmers .I got out of the Marine Corps in '63 and my father-in-law got me started with deer hunting in !965 . Hunted with him for a few years and he quit . I stopped hunting for about 10 years and then my sister-in-law asked if I wanted to hunt on her property in Geneseo . Got back into deer hunting . I had always wanted a bow . I started bow hunting about 1994 when I was 53 and still prefer bow hunting over gun hunting . I hunt alone alot and sometimes with 2 of my sons .

You need to paint the bucket black and place it where it gets a lot of sun so the water will warm up .

Years ago , there was an addition to the Rochester News Paper called UPSTATE . They had an article about a team of guys who were following the trail of General Sullivan's march . They found all sorts of relics around Conesus Lake , Groveland , etc ..

I agree . It has little to do with Liberals . I have Conservative friends who are anti hunters and would probably support a dumb thing like this . I would replace liberal solution with anti hunting solution .

An Evening with Charles Alsheimer

Anyone that has attended any of his seminars knows that he will discuss religion . If that offends someone , they should just stay away so that they won't be bothered with any religious enlightenment . I have attended 4 of his seminars and they were excellent plus I met a lot of deer hunters . -
Don't have time to post . I have work to do .

That only works if you are Greek !

I had a similar problem with my Compound . Got longer bolts / screws at the hardware store and cut a couple pieces from a throw away arrow shaft with the arrow saw . Worked like a charm .
-
I have gotten pass throughs with the 2 blade Rage heads . My quiver holds the shaft in 2 places and I havn't had any blades rattle open . But ....... I always check the blades when I nock a hunting arrow .

The only places I have heard Charlie's talks were at the Victory Baptist church hall in Henrietta and the Living Word hall in Ontario . -

I over reacted .............. anyway , since the church groups seem to be the only ones that sponsor any of the seminars , I don't mind the speakers giving a bit of a religious talk . I have gone to seminars with Bob Bernier , Bob Foulkrod and a guy that was into Moose / Elk hunting . Charlie is the best . By the way , I got a real nice cooler at the last dinner / seminar I attended . -

Paying for a seminar ? Any of the talks I had gone to charged $10 or less for a meal and a chance to win a door prize . Almost every time one of the places that does bratwurst . salami , pepperoni , etc ... would have samples that you could fill up on . He spends maybe 5 minutes talking about faith . If 5 minutes of listening to someone discuss his Christian faith then by all means don't attend the "expensive" seminar ! Good grief !!! I almost forgot to mention that the Sportsmans dinner / seminars are done by churches . I have never seen any done by gun clubs , etc .. -
I wear the face mask . Don't care for the paint . My 2 sons that hunt use the camo paint .
