  2. Maybe you could post the GPS coordinates ..........
  3. Corn The price of corn touched a record high of almost $8 a bushel earlier this month, amid some of the tightest supply, demand conditions ever seen. Corn has also been affected by the severe weather that has hit the wheat crops, whilst European farmers are contending with the driest growing conditions in three decades. But it is not just weather conditions that are affecting the cost of corn; U. S. economic policies are also playing their part. About a sixth of global production of corn is now converted to ethanol - a biofuel. The United States spends about $6 billion a year on federal support for ethanol production. Thanks to this financial assistance, one-sixth of the world's corn supply is burned in American cars. That is enough corn to feed 350 million people for an entire year. And the ethonal ruins engines and parts . :
  4. Great pics .....thanks for posting them . Love the pic of the bucks in the creek !
  5. Some of us old folks are lucky . I was able to purchase the lifetime Sportsman's License for $50 a couple years ago . I still had to pay $42 a year for the Bow and ML tags but that will change for me this year .
  6. The neighbors aren't gonna either... That's the only thing that bothered me about QDM . I would let the young ones go and as soon as they hit the adjacent property i would hear a Boom , Boom , Boom ! But ..... I have to live with my conscience .
  7. I would feel totally guilty if I killed a young buck with so much potential. He gets a free pass from me this fall. So does his bachelor group buddy, "Wide Boy," another great looking 2 year old that I've been watching since last summer... Yeah, Id pass on him as well, but it would be tough lol Well , this old fart wouldn't give him a pass ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/2cents.gif[/img]
  8. This has gotten off topic but reminds me of an old work related incident ......... One of the guys used to bring in copies of Playboy Magazine and keep them in his locker . At lunch time he would break them out and peruse through them . One of the other guys picked one up , saw the pictures and said , "oh , this is terrible" ! Page after page he would repeat , "oh , this is terrible" ! Finally another worker said , "then why the hell do you keep looking at it" ? I don't agree with a lot of the political views and if I wasn't a moderator I probably wouldn't even bother to look at them .
  9. Took a picture of an Ice Cream truck on Main street

    Ouch

I only use an arm guard when I am hunting just to keep my shirt sleeve snug . Havn't had any arm rash in several years (knock on wood) .
  11. I certainly don't condone this activity but I'd bet if that happed to a person , most of the public would pay little attention . And there wouldn't be a reward .
  12. I guess if we are going to nit-pick , it wouldn't be a "near miss" , it would be a "nearly hit" ! ...
  13. I don't care who you are , that's funny ! ;D Git 'r done !
  14. 10 pounds a minute . Who's cranking that baby ? ???
  15. LMAO, I cant believe I did that, thanks for the correction Eddie Sorry , but I had to bust you on that one . I thought holy crap , 48# of meat would take 24 hours to grind . I don't think so . ... ...
  16. Keynesian economics (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/8a/Loudspeaker.svg/11px-Loudspeaker.svg.png[/img] /ˈkeɪnziən/ kayn-zee-ən; also called Keynesianism and Keynesian theory) is a macroeconomic theory based on the ideas of 20th century English economist John Maynard Keynes. Keynesian economics argues that private sector decisions sometimes lead to inefficient macroeconomic outcomes and therefore advocates active policy responses by the public sector, including monetary policy actions by the central bank and fiscal policy actions by the government to stabilize output over the business cycle.[1] The theories forming the basis of Keynesian economics were first presented in The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money, published in 1936; the interpretations of Keynes are contentious, and several schools of thought claim his legacy. Keynesian economics advocates a mixed economy—predominantly private sector, but with a moderate role of government and public sector—and served as the economic model during the later part of the Great Depression, World War II, and the post-war economic expansion (1945–1973), though it lost some influence following the stagflation of the 1970s. The advent of the global financial crisis in 2007 has caused a resurgence in Keynesian thought. The former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former President of the United States George W. Bush, President Barack Obama, and other world leaders have used Keynesian economics through government stimulus programs to attempt to assist the economic state of their countries.[2][3]
  17. 2 lb per hour is a tad slow . : I would be more inclined to think 2 lbs per minute .
  18. Yupper , that is one hog of a deer ! Congrats !
  19. I guess the next time someone eyeballs me through a scope I will try to be more cordial . "Excuse me sir but would you please not look at me through the scope on your loaded gun and please take your finger off of the trigger and put your safety back on." That might be more politically correct . Yeah , right ! :
  20. Nice inheritance ........
  21. If there is anything I hate it's having some dumb ass looking at me through his scope ! I have screamed at guys a couple times and called them about every name in the book . One said "well I wasn't gonna shoot" . I suggested they get a pair of binos , even if they were cheap ones . All it takes is for someone getting careless and pulling the trigger by mistake .
  22. My sister in law used to were her brown Carharts hunting . I told her that she had made enough enemies that she might be mistakenly shot . I gave her my father in laws old red hunting suit .
