2020 WNY Archery Academy is Finally Open!
2012_taco replied to The_Real_TCIII's topic in Bow Hunting
I just realized that yesterday was Tuesday! Dam I totally forgot to attend the Academy! I guess I needed that nap more than the practice? -
Glad you had a great time! Next time maybe?

Got blind #2 up yesterday, had plenty of help with this one, which was great as this one is bigger and much heavier! Still have to build the stairs and then make some darkening curtains for the inside of the windows. These cold mornings are getting the blood flowing, can't wait to sit in a tree!

You can get the same effect by throwing old x-mas lights into the fire. We used to cut up a few pieces from old lights but started thinking about the toxicity of the fumes so we stopped, although the colors were cool!

I just wanted to post an update on the fundraising, we did great and raised over $11K for the fight against cancer! I really appreciate everyone's help and support as this is truly close to my heart. We didn't get to play ice hockey due to the coronavirus, but I hope to try again next year. Lord Willing! Here's a clip from facebook post

Hope you're doing better already!

I should bring my climber too, I just made a diy pair of third hand straps for my Summit climber and would love to set it up and see how they work. -
I have had several different vinyl covers on my pick up trucks over the years. I have to say that the tri fold are a vast improvement over the stretch and velcro down covers! You couldn't put them back on in the cold, had to put a ceramic heater in the bed to warm it up so it would stretch back out. Now I have a fiberglass cap and I really like it, stays dry, has lights, and holds a ton more in the box. It's great for our tent camping trips. I like how the truck looks with the tonneau cover on it but I'm to lazy to bother taking off the cap. So that said, i do have tri-fold cover that fits a 2012 toyota tacoma, I should take a couple of pics and list it for sale!

For sale is my 10' Ascend D10T fishing kayak. Paddle included. Very stable kayak, will be great to fish out of with the right accessories. Asking $325. Local pick up preferred, I would deliver a reasonable distance. Located in Amherst. Call or text me at 716 239-9359 Tim

Lawd, when did you put that ladder rack on the truck?

I'll have to look for pics as it was a long time ago and i honestly don't remember what year it would have been! I know it won't be digital, 35mm, maybe even black & white! LOL

That's why I sheathed my blind in place. I lapped 1 corner over the next to tie it in. I just didn't nail the overlap as I plan on taking the blind apart to transport it, and I'll finish nailing the corners once it's erected in the final location. I'm sure you'll be ok just nail the corner well and use some spray foam to seal it from leaks. Or you could caulk the corner before you attach the next wall to seal it. There's more than 1 way to skin a cat! Blind looks like it's built real solid, nice work!

Tacks, i just saw this is it too late to join? I tried to join and got a message that the league is full. Ask the commissioner to expand the league size.

I never really put that much thought into it? If i'm filling a doe tag and have the choice between 2 does, i'll definitely shoot the larger doe as i'm looking for the meat, so the bigger the better. I haven't noticed any change in their patterns as they tend to go where the food is. maybe they will start using a different route? but that's why we scout. I have heard that if you take out the mother of a young buck that he will never really leave the home range, as that's all he's ever known. I don't know if this is true but I like the idea that next year that buck will be near one of my stands!

Happy belated Birthday Tacks! I hope you had a great day!

Happy Birthday Sir! Enjoy the day!

Shot a couple this morning before heading to Baltimore. 25 yds as that's as far as I can shoot without standing in the driveway and I don't want the neighbors to see me and call the police!

I can't believe they stole the sd card and not the camera!

It's a good thing i didn't make it last night, at 40 yds. my arrows wouldn't be anywhere close to the bullseye! -

I hear ya! I haven't shot any where's enough this year and I can feel it. I got home last night too late to attend the Academy so i flung a couple at home just b4 dark. My strength is not any where close to what it should be. I need to shoot every day from now to 10-1. I don't see that happening as I leave for Baltimore tomorrow! It will be a week b4 I touch my bow again. Not to mention that i need to put out some cameras and start getting some stands put up! WTF, where has the summer gone?
