I'm looking to use .45 cal brass pistol bullet casings to hold the coins, does anyone know where I can get about 30 spent bullet casings cheap? I will probably check out the gun center on Harlem Rd, or maybe the gun range in Wheatfield on NF blvd? Thanks

This is more like not so live from the woods, yesterday i finished taking down all my stands and pulled my last camera. Gonna wait a couple of weeks and put back all my cameras to see what may have made it through.

I got 6lbs of pepper sticks all stuffed and ready to go in the smoker. No pics, it's the same as I have done b4. I added high temp cheese to this batch! Should be ready tomorrow around 3-4 pm for the local taste test.(Lawd).

Not hunting related but, the local news did a little story about the incident we dealt with last Thursday at hockey. Those that went to the Goat know about this as i didn't make it to the party because of this. When another player dropped dead due to a heart attack we did cpr and used the AED, it shocked him back and the paramedics said we saved his life! Thank God we had that thing! The guy had a complete blockage in a main artery, at the hospital they put in a stint and he is back on his feet. Second chance at life! Hockey brothers are much like us hunting brothers, we would, and do anything for each other! Lave life mas! don't swear the small stuff.

What charade? I was hoping that someone might know what type of hardwood it is. I didn't think it looked like oak but i suppose it could be, there are so many different types of oak and the dark areas could just be some of the heart wood? It was stored in an old barn on Ayer rd that was torn down. I can post some pics of the end grain if that would help?

I'm making a challenge coin display board for my son and I cleaned up this piece of what I thought was black walnut? Now that I look closely at it I'm thinking it might be chestnut? It's really hard, much harder than black walnut and it has grains similar to oak. Does anyone know by looking at the pictures what kind of wood it is? This is 2 pieces glued together.

I have a Toro 824, bought it new in 1982. I put about $100 in bearing in it about 8 years ago. The electric start took a dump a while ago, but it starts 1 pull every time! I always shut off the gas supply and run the carb dry after each use and put store safe in the fuel. It's been a good machine. Although like most everything else produced these days, the new ones don't compare to the old ones. Too much plastic and cheap parts. If I had to get a new machine I would probably look for one at a garage sale in the summer where some one is moving south. JMHO.

Sorry, this is all that's left. Busy weekend, took some of this to 2 Christmas parties, it was a big hit!

I pulled the casings off the sausage to stuff the venison because wife said "don't just shove the sausage in there, that's too pornograffic!"

Venison back straps marinated in Montreal steak seasoning, veg oil, vinegar, and water, then stuffed with hot Italian sausage. Going in the smoker!

I'm up and heading out to 9F, winds are wrong for all my stands. i think I'll take the climber so I can sit on the south side of the woods. Damn north wind! Good luck everyone.

I'm reading this thread and thinking what the heck an I going to get my wife? She's been doing a lot of painting rocks(sweet buffalo rocks) it's a facebook thing, and I see this. I think maybe I'll look into an airbrush set up. Thanks Airdale!

Is it possible to work with an old set of horns to do a Euro mount? I have the buck heads from 3 bucks taken a few years ago that I left out in the garden hoping bugs or mice would clean them up. They were never touched so i just set them in my garage. Now I'm thinking I should try to clean them up and hang them on the garage wall. The problem is they still have the hide on them and they are dried up. Any one have an idea if i can just boil them or do I need to try and get the hide off before i can boil them? Thanks for any ideas/help.

Philo, are you taking blood pressure meds? My brother and my wife both had issues with fainting spells and it turned out to be the meds , they cause a sudden drop in blood pressure and you black out. Real scary when it happens. I don't remember the name of the drug but i can find out. Be careful !!

I'm off today, got dr's appointments at 8:30 and 4:00. Hopefully I will get out sometime in between!
