I guess there is a silver lining? I went out yesterday (with the new owners permission) to remove my stands. I down loaded the on X hunt app on my phone and used it to flag the property line as I have permission to hunt the piece to the west of this piece. I had to move 3 stands total but 1 of my food plots is literally 99% on the property i still have permission! I had to move my stand about 20 ft. i also found out that a large section of my mowed lane is on the other piece. It appears that I will have to park on the road and cross a creek but i will still be hunting the area!

My wife and ride our motorcycles when the weather is nice. I love doing wood projects in my shop when it's not really hot and humid! But my real passion is playing hockey, I'm 65 and still play at least once a week in the summer and the winter league started last night, so I'll be playing 2x a week all winter. The wife and I also ski all winter. That's why I hunt when I can!

Sounds like it's too late, he has made up his mind and I will respect his wishes. Maybe he will change his mind in the future. I'm not holding my breath.

I told him I would sign a waiver. I told him he could check with the previous owner as there has been absolutely no problem the entire time he owned the piece. Thank God I was able to hunt it for as long as I did!

I got the call yesterday and after talking to his attorney and insurance agent the new owner told me he is not going to be able to let me continue to hunt the property. That sucks! I totally understand, at least he gave me 2 weeks to get my stands out. I still have permission the hunt the piece adjacent to this piece but all my mowed lanes to access the other piece are on his property. I asked if he would at least allow me to continue to use the trails and he said no, "I can't have people walking on the property with guns"

I'm extremely bummed. I knew this day would come but I always hoped it wouldn't. One of the pieces of property I hunt and have hunted for over 20 years just sold. I had no idea it was up for sale, there was no for sale sign. I met the new owner today and he is planning on putting up a new house. I may be able to continue to hunt it this year as there is no way he will be able start the house before the end of deer season. I hope so as I put in 2 food plots and they are both doing good, plus I have 4 stands already up. He took my name and phone # said he will get back to me, here's hoping! On a positive note I did tell him about the food plots and the stands and he didn't tell me to take the stands down! I asked if he hunted and he sad not really but he has nothing against it. Another positive!

I'm older than dirt! My mom drove a Studebaker. I remember all of them, just the fact that I CAN remember them should mean that I'm not that old! We used to drink the coke from the wax bottles and then chew on the wax for a while! I believe the blackjack gum was licorice? How about shopping at "monkey wards"?

I think you need to find a way to use those bear feet foot pegs!

Damn you guys shot last night? I totally forgot it was Tuesday with Monday being a holiday! I think my shoulder is good enough to let a couple fly, at least lift a couple of cold ones!

I'm sitting in the living room ac on, reading what everyone else is doing, so i guess I'm doing nothing! I was going to go out and try to put up a couple of stands but my lazy butt decided it's too hot out! I did rebuild the seats on 2 stands so they should be more comfy, but It's too hot in the shop to do any more work.

I put together a batch this morning, letting them cool. I used some Wegmans hot breakfast sausage, should be good! Lawd taste test in 5 minutes?

My turn....my wife and I haven't been out on the motorcycles in over a month for one reason or another, yesterday she asked if we could ride to Dansville there is a hot air balloon festival. I was seriously planning on stopping in on the way home just to say Hi, but we waited until 6:30 to head home as they were supposed to launch the balloons at 6. well because of the wind they cancelled the launch. Got into Lancaster around 8 but by then all I wanted was to get home. I didn't want to chance having a couple of pops and getting back on the scooter! Sorry I will have to catch up at the next academy shoot.

Lawd, go to the Bills store on Abbott, I think they will have them?

Hawkeye Bowmen on Clinton has their annual Labor Day Shoot on Monday. Anyone interested in a walk through? They have 3 - 10 target courses. And they serve a great breakfast and lunch.

Anyone ever try these? it looks like a good quick breakfast for early morning hunts. I took a walk to my food plots yesterday and the clover is coming back. Some of the brassica I planted is starting to emerge but the plots are still bone dry. It looks like no rain for a few more days, I hope these little plants can survive.
