  1. Not to derail the thread but the wife and I tent camp most of the time. the past few years we've stayed in a rented cabin with all the necessities. tents are just to cold in October! I understand the need for a camper and everyone has their own personal preferences. Each to his own. I personally am not going to purchase a monster truck to drive all year long only to use it to pull a second house a couple times a year. Although they are are nice. I keep everything we usually need pre -packed in bins in my garage so packing for a weekend doesn't take long. Just food and clothes. I'll admit it takes time to set up camp, but once it's done it's quite comfortable. We have a queen size travel bed so we're not sleeping on the ground. I can trailer my scooters for day rides and I have my truck for rainy days. The large tarp keeps everything nice and dry, including the bikes. Plus it gives you a nice sized outside kitchen out of the weather.
  2. Glad you got through it. You can come over and get those guns you gave me next week when i go in for my colonoscopy!
  3. Lawd didn't need to hear this but, the last time I had it done they tore my colon and I got 5 staples to close up the wound. I spent 3 days in the hospital. They told me the staples will pass as the wound heals? I never saw them pass so every time I go through a metal detector i just tell them its steel toed work boots, I don't need them trying to locate the metal!
  4. Lawd, I feel your pain! I just called to Gastro office and have an appointment next week. My father died from colon cancer at 66 so I have been going every 3-5 years since I turned 40. I'm 65, you can do the math. I have to admit the day/night before is the worst, but the prep has gotten a lot better over the last few years. One word of advice, don't make any important decisions or phone calls after the procedure until you get up from your nap, you are still under the effects of the anesthesia and you won't remember anything! On second thought maybe I'll stop over before you take your nap and pick up those guns you have been promising to give me!!! Good Luck buddy, it all comes out in the end!
  5. I wish I would have checked my cameras before the end of May, I would have hunted closer to home! I think this hen must be nesting close by. I hope this coyote doesn't find the nest or the little ones.
  6. These bucks keep checking this old scrape and licking branch.
  7. Happy Birthday big guy! Hope it is a great day!
  8. 3 if you look to the far left you should see my fan desk.
  9. Went to Farmersville yesterday got right in early where they have been roosting, nothing, never heard a gobble! Hunted till noon never found them. I'm in my blind on a field in Little Valley hopefully they will come. It's raining already and the wind is blowing15-20 mph! Still better than work!
  10. I got out this morning and had 1 gobble as i was walking up the hill. 4:58am! I got in close and there were 2 adults roosted, I could see them at about 60 yds. They were gobbling a lot! 1st one pitched out and across the road and instantly started gobbling, the other stayed on the roost for over an hour. I think he was waiting for the hen to show up (me) eventually he pitched out to across the road so I booked down to the edge of the road. I could see them in the large field so I called aggressively and got the hens cranked up, but the hens lead them all away. They were gobbling right up till 7am! went back to the roost site at 9:30 and sat till noon never heard another bird. I will probably go back on Wednesday, I cleared a lane to right under the SOB's roost tree. I'm going to get in close and not even call, I want to see what they do if I don't try to "work" them.
  11. Congrats Larry! Nice bird! That paint job on the other hand? JK
  12. I got out today, should have been a perfect morning, i got 1 to gobble at 5:15 to a crow call. He didn't gobble much, I felt he wasn't a "hot" one? Had a buck come in behind me and started snorting, he probably snorted 10-15 times, I never heard that bird again! I did a big circle through the property , checked all the fields, never heard another bird. Called it at 10 as I got "stuff" to do. Hopefully get out tomorrow or Monday morning. I already put in for the 30 and 31 off from work. I won't quit till the proverbial fat lady signs!
  13. I'll have to check I believe it's a full choke. Not sure what lop means?
  14. Congrats on your retirement! Glad you finished it in 1 piece.
  15. I hit a new spot in Clarence today, didn't hear a thing. Saw deer, raccoon, owl, pileated wood pecker, and 1 hen. I think the fog in the fields screws them up. If I could stay till noon I might find 1, but I have to get to work.
  16. Gun is still available, $175.00. I may take it out this weekend and try for a spring gobbler!
  17. Thanks for the b- day wishes. I might try the Yelling goat for dinner? TF is it open yet? Absolute beautiful day too bad I spend most of it at work! Would have loved to play hooky and went turkey hunting!
  18. Still available $50.00, these list for $160. It is too big for my Tacoma. Needs a home behind the front seat of a full size truck.
  19. I too have the turkey gobbling ring tone. I use it during May as kinda a joke. Last year I'm at a friends place and the evening before we're standing on the porch watching 3 hens in his field and my phone rings, got us both! I forgot i had changed my ring tone! we both jumped thinking the bird was right near us.
  20. The Kawasaki has been sold!! Mods can lock this up. Thanks
  21. Send in the ticket and mark it not guilty. They will give you a court date and you will see to town attorney or a assistant district attorney. they will plead it down to a parking ticket and charge you a ton. but no points on your license and they keep the $$ instead of it going to the state. It's very routine as long as you don't have any outstanding warrants or a lot of points on your license. If that's the case you're SCREWED!!!
  22. Where did you find these at Walmart? I checked 2 stores in Williamsville and lockport didn't see them. I even checked on line can't find them?
  23. No pics yet, but I'm going to do a beef brisket today. I've been wanting to do brisket for some time, finally picked up a 15# piece yesterday. Now to figure out what rub to use? Anyone have any suggestions?
  24. TF that vest looks great except no padded seat and that fanny pack would be in the way when sitting up against a tree. Although you usually sit in a blind so I assume you're on a chair and take the vest off? I like the fact that it is very open, my vest is a full vest and walking out on a warm day it gets hot. I just went through my stuff getting ready for drive to Little Valley on Monday, can't wait!!
