I was wrong about the 12 Ga. its a Browning , the 22 is a Remington Model 12-A . The Mauser was modified years ago by the Bennet Gun Works Delmar NY .

Nothing like being able to get back to work after hunting season and proudly exclaiming " Yup , I blew Bambi's Brains out again this year" LOL

I just inherited my wife's Fathers guns , her brother and cousin had them for the past 20 years (her Father passed away 20 yrs ago) and her brother doesnt hunt - lucky me ! Anyway they are a 7mm Mauser-modified with fold-over scope-bolt action, a 12ga Remington Auto-Loader and a little 22 Pump which is missing the rod to hold the shells in . Her brother shot 1 deer with the Mauser and when it bailed/cried he gave up hunting . I have'nt shot any of them yet and have no experience with 7mm , I am thinking of using it this season or just sticking with the good ole 30/30 Winchester . Any Thoughts welcome !

My house is oil how water baseboard but we installed a woodstove in the basement . I would have gone with a pellet stove but we lose power now and again and so I didnt want to relie(sp) on electric for heat-auger- ! When I do burn the HW boiler never comes on and the house - 1400 sg ft.- stays at roughly 72 degrees . We burn somewhere between 4-5 cords per year , last year we paid $200.00 per cord . I found a small fan that is made to sit on the top of the woodstove and when it gets hot it starts to blow the air around the basement using no electricity !

If I was a bow hunter I dont think I would hesitate on taking the shot , but thats me !

I constantly hold back on the urge to twist their neck so the hat fits properly ....LOL

I've always hunted from a stand with my rifle , if for no other reason too get my scent up there and I believe I see more deer that way .

Welcome Aboard the Board LOL ! I joined this board last year and find it a really good experience ! You'll get a lot of good advice from very experienced Hunters . Various war stories (hunting) break out now and again but all in good nature !
