Curious .... My son dropped a Spike this past Sunday and he said there were two spikes travelling together along with 4 Does . Question is : will the remaining spike be a spike next year (I should know this by now) , is it in his genes or is it food supply dependant . With the soon to come Antler Restrictions spike bucks will continue to reproduce unabated . Am I wrong on that ? My son and I have'nt seen any other bucks in the area since opening day of gun season , but I find plenty of sign ... scrapes/rubs !

Son shot a Spike yesterday morning and he mentioned that he picked the bigger of the two spikes in range ! Not seeing any decent bucks in the area -4H- except at the Butchers LOL

I agree ....too warm ! Its time I believe to have 2 guys on stand and 1 or 2 guys pushing or the deer will never get up and switch to nocturnal . Just my opinion .

I smoke in the woods but I'm 20 feet up in my stand ! But like Pygmy said before I believe the movement required to smoke is the giveaway !

I said the hell with dragging and went for an ATV yesterday (used) ... bought a 2008 Honda Rancher 420 with a Plow attached ( so wifey ok'd it ) at http://mattshonda.com/ and look forward to stress free dragging !

I shot a big Doe on opening day and was ever so glad my 30 yr. old son was there to drag , could'nt have done it without him . I've gotta get an ATV , but damn they're expensive !
