  1. Yes, I was rubbing his hand on Tuesday and he opens his eyes slightly to acknowledge us but even that's becoming a struggle. He hears us which puts me somewhat at ease..Thx to all for all the well wishes.
  2. Please say a prayer for my uncle, a long time hunting buddy and my Godfather. He has been battling liver/heart issues for sometime and it has now got the best of him. What a strong man to endure the pain and suffering, sticking it out all these years for his family. My heart bleeds for my 2 cousins that will soon loose their father, there's nothing else I can say or do but to be there for them. He was rushed to hospital this week and Dr.s say they can't do anything else for him but to keep him comfortable. I'm afraid he won't live this week out, I just hope God takes him peacefully to end his pain. I had to take a walk from work as I'm tearing up as I type this. Life is not easy as we get older and a lot of our loved ones begin to pass..thx for listening.
  3. Not good bud, like you said had the tree decided to lean the opposite way, you and that Atv would be taking flight..
  4. Definitely do not use an ATV. My friend and cousin both have very similar scenarios both which had large sized trees leaning towards their house. I assisted with felling both trees and in both instances my plan worked and thankfully no one was hurt and the trees fell exactly where I planned. What you need is to have a healthy tree in the same direction you want the bad tree to fall . Tie a huge tow rope or chains mid point up on the bad tree and tie it to a healthy tree about 100 feet away about shoulders or lower height ,with the winch tied closest to the tree your NOT cutting down. Its a two man job, take it slow and communicate. Make a forward notch in the direction you want tree to fall (direction of the winch) and start your back cut. Every so often stop sawing and have the other guy start winching. Keep rotating the cutting and winching and you will see the tree begin to lean in the direction of the winch. Keep repeating this process till it falls, through this whole process there should be no slack in the chains or cable. Get ready to run.
  5. Now that right there is natural talent, great for her. That's awesome!!
  6. Would need some serious HP to run one of those.
  7. I'm a red type of guy, Massey..but I like your new rig, have fun.
  8. Why is this a bad thing, I don't see how a hunter could view an early youth season for anything other than a great thing. Sorry, maybe because I have 4 kids my judgement maybe impartial...lol..really I don't even see how an early turkey season for youths would be an issue.

  15. Sorry but yes im a proud dad thats bragging but I feel the need to share this with my hunting brothers and sisters and any young kids listening. These kids and so many others have worked so hard over the winter and it shows, just want to show any kids on here that no matter what they do in life, do it with great gusto and be humbled about it. Been really busy lately and have not been on here that much, alot of my spare time from now on is spent with 2 boys playing travel ball. Literally stripping down after work and out the door again to take kids to games and practice and also help coach my younger boys team. But that's the story of alot of parents out there and i want to commend you as it takes alot of dedication. The weekends are even crazier, but to be very honest i wouldn't have it any other way!!!! Well to the reason i started this thread, heres my 12 year old working hard over the winter being trained by a retired MLB pitcher. Now fast forward to this past Saturday on his opening day of spring season ,my 12 year old boy pitched 7 innings with a no hitter, with a low 80's pitch count with 18 strikeouts..Just prayer to God he remains healthy and his team has a fun season. Hes on a weeks rest now and hes so happy. His younger brother is not too far behind. Im not sure how i got 2 lefties, but i aint complaining..sorry for the rant, i'm just so happy for them good or bad....thier both gonna be playing in Cooperstown this summer in a tournament. Cant wait. Please share any stories of your little ones playing any sports, would love to hear them.
