  1. If you have no takers and are not going to use the 4F, let me know, I could put that tag to use. Thx.
  2. You don't give yourself enough credit, there's substantially more then a few..lol.. !!
  3. Possibly , I took a sow few years back and she went 230lbs (live weight), he just looks a helluva alot bigger.
  4. Now I have this bear in my mind everytime I'm walking in the woods in the dark, any little noise is gonna make me piss my pants...lol
  5. Nah, already took one off my property and made a nice rug, have no desire to shoot another. But thx on the weight, I was thinking around 400.
  6. This guy recently passed thru one of my plots. Not a bear expert, looks pretty big to me. Your approx. thoughts on weight?
  7. In my redneck if I close the windows my body heat alone was enough to keep me comfortable even in temps last week that were in the low 20s in the morning. I would imagine with the buddy heater on low I can hunt in a t shirt.
  8. You really should start a new thread, for someone that doesn't care either way seems pretty hurt on the subject. Again, if it's legal what the hell do you care what your neighbor uses. You guys crack me up.
  9. What's your point? I'm also surprised how many people are still rocking a vertical bow. Thier all implements that achieve results (kill deer). All joking aside, it's called a crossbow. People on this forum don't normally make comments like wow surprised how many are using the bow, so why even be surprised or even comment when you see people using the crossbow? Bored?
  10. Yeah lumber prices are insane, I bought the redneck but I made the base out of all pressure treated lumber, it's all 2x6 and 4x4 construction and pressure treated plywood. Just the base alone cost me about $500 to make, crazy. But it's extremely sturdy and heavy as heck. Like you I have the buddy heater at the ready. Well even if we don't get deer, we will be nice and toasty. Best of luck.
  11. Looks awesome!!! Here's mine.
  12. Possibly, I do woodworking from time to time, just a side gig that I get enjoyment from but almost never do it to make money. Finding the time to do woodworking is the hard part.
  13. Made a table top pedestal plaque for my crossbow buck, gonna go on the coffee table at the cabin.
  14. Guess I'll be the first to post a crossbow harvest, 8 pointer with kickers on bases.
  15. Showered, coffee, bite to eat and off to redneck blind in a half hour or so. Hoping to get one with the crossbow. Yesterday saw 5 does, (2) 4 pointers, a spike, 3 pointer and a really nice half racked 8 pointer which I might regret not taking. Good luck all!!!
  16. Wash my clothes in plain ole water, place them in totes, take them out to get some fresh air couple weeks before the bow opener, they are placed back in sealed totes between hunts and place a couple pine branches in each tote.
  17. That's awesome, dont need to explain why you took a spike to no one. Congrats, any deer with any weapon is a trophy and healthy meat for the family.
