  1. Boogity, Boogity, Boogity, Let's go racing boys. Simply create a team on Yahoo Fantasy Racing. Then join our group... Group ID# 14315 Group name: at2015 Password: atnascar
  2. Bought two bows off AT, could not be happier. If your not in a hurry you can do very well and save many $. One bow was only one year old and I got it almost half of new price, the bow was mint. Elite Pure, and it shoots awesome, I have a long draw length so my bow choices are limited.
  3. Being a Bowhunter only hunter I would check the sunrise/Twilight charts to know what time to get in the woods. I like getting in when still dark but will never shoot until I can see my pins clearly, who wants to go chasing deer all over the place. When I can't see my pins I am done hunting, in thick woods it is right around legal time anyway give or take a couple minutes.
  4. Good for you being patient, it's kind of like fly fishing. I started bow only hunting 25 years ago and never looked back, ate tag soup a year or two here and there but last 18 years I have gotten deer, last 10 years I have shot four or more per year. Keep at it, find a good spot and go often. It is the most fun I have all year.
  5. Yes, certainly from a northern woman's nether region, they need the extra warmth. Perhaps one decided to move south and no longer needed the extra layer.
  6. thunnus that is not true, the fawns survive fine unless it's an unusually cold, deep snow winter. A severe winter sometimes kills with or without momma doe around. The fawns will be fine and I see them getting by ok in winter near my home.
  7. New septic on my 150 yr old home was $20,000.00, at 10K it's a bargain. You might want to consider making it bigger in case you ever want to add bedrooms or build a bigger place.
  8. Deer I've shot had a bunch of ticks but once the body starts to cool they hightail it off of them.
  9. I went tubeless many years ago and there is no comparison. If you get good strings your peep will not rotate if installed correctly, 50 shots should be enough to break in a new string although I went without a peep last hunting season after installing new strings and still shot four deer. I put the peep back on before this season and groups are tighter.
  10. Win some … Lose some But the excitement was worth it now wasn't it?
  11. Spent the last two and a half days in 3K hunting and all I saw was a six point that I let pass and two coyotes which one got a pass but his buddy got an arrow. All day sits but this dang warm weather stinks, I dont know when I will be able to take more time off from work.
  12. I had the problem with deer within 50 yards, Bark like a dog worked well, also dropped things from the stand worked well... Till One time I ran out of things to drop. Just don't let them pattern you!
  13. OK then, aside from eating it raw I will shoot, dress and get it a butcher ASAP. then cook it well done. Is there any way to have the meat tested for Trichinosis? I guess the bears get it from their diet.
  14. Alrighty then… BEAR it is, I may never get to shoot one when I want but I sure might shoot one when I'm looking for something else.
  15. So while scouting a place to hang my archery deer stand I came across quite a bit of bear sign, I have seen them there before and guess they still are. Question is, I will be hunting alone and unless I shoot a small one to drag downhill to a road I will have to quarter it and bring it out in pieces, I'm not 20 yrs old anymore and it's all uphill. So is bear meat that good and worth all the work I will be doing, then theres the butcher cost?
  16. Archerytalk.com is THE place to but a bow cheap, it may be used but some have barely been shot. I got a great deal on my Elite which was a year old but looked brand new, if you are not in a hurry the prices are good but drop quickly when no interest is shown the first few days. Elite warranty travels from owner to owner and it's a top quality bow.
  17. I remove the old stuff as well, it crumbles when touched and I have to bend down and pick up all the pieces.
  18. Mathews Genesis is a great beginners bow, I started my boys off with it and now at (big for their age) ten they are shooting a Mission Craze.
  19. My Elite Pure CBE Teck Hybrid sight QAD HDX rest Stokerized SS1 stabilizer Twisted Archer Strings
  20. I shoot Axis with my 75 lb Bowtech but went with .001 Black Eagle Rampage for my Elite 65lb and love them Black Eagles. They are not as heavy plus I am using a 100gr head as well so I tried going without my usual 500 grain hunting arrow. The results have been 4 dead deer with this new set up. I fletch my own with Blazers and they fly better than my Axis do. Both bows have QAD HDX dropaway rests'.
