  1. Just cant wait till watching the sun come up Saturday morning..
  2. If you have aMilitary supply store or a Herb Phillipson's store close to home, goin and ask for the "mickey mouse boots", their black rubber with an air pocket.. New their about 80 bucks.. Warmest boots ever, dont even need thick socks. Also 100 percent rubber/waterproof and scentless..
  3. Just a thought..... I have a 760(pump) carbine that stacks shots on top of each other with 150gr bullets, but if i drop a few 165gr shells in, its out to a 4-5 inch grouping at 100 yds... If it ain't broke, dont fix it...
  4. Placed one last minute stand this weekend.. What a difference a week makes.. After not having seen a rub or scrape the last three weeks, my wife and I counted at least 20, on 3 different runs.. Looking nforward to saturday.. Goodluck everyone

I'd get the horse an orange vest if you plan on taking him out in late November... Lotta "Special Ed's" out there
  6. I've been chompin at the bit for a few weeks now.. Always seems like this last week before we get going is the longest week of the year.
  7. This is an easy fix.. Get a flat shooting paintball gun
  8. With a scoped rifle, a proficient shooter should have no problem with a neck shot, even running away from you, its a much bigger target.. With a bow, your rolling the dice anyway you look at it
  9. Im in the market for one.. I know its a long shot, but if anyone has a XXL or biger harness, im having a tough time finding one and i dont wanna go without one.. Im in Syracuse, hunting 7F, 7J and 7M
  10. I've been hunting in wool since i was a kid... No synthetic fiber will ever be as quiet in the woods
  11. Most of the Adirondacks is state land, route 28 from Inlet through Blue Mountain is beaituful country.. A word of warning, it is a hugggge chunk ofland and deer are very spread out.. Could get very frustrating with a bow( its tough going with a rifle).. For bow close to Syracuse, check out Happy Valley in Parish
  12. I appreciate the thoughts fellas.. I'm staying out of there this weekend, as i dont want to stir up the woods too much, may juts scout some other areas i dont have stands in (yet) hoping for the best on the 15th. Good luck this season
  13. 7M and 7J Chenango County
  14. So i hung my two stands last weekend. I'm bowhunting for the first time since i was about 15 this year, with the hopes of getting a crack at a solid 10pt i tracked late muzzleloader season last year. (I've been rifle hunting the early season in the Adirondacks the last 10 yrs) The area im hunting is loaded with deer sign. Its a small ridge below 3 corn fields, and above a thick swamp.. Normally when i check my southern stands right before gun season, the woods are full of scrapes and rubs,. but ive never really been in the southern tier woods this early. . My question is this.. Should i be concerned that their are no rubs or scrapes near my stands this early, or am i just worrying about everything because the season is almost here? Happy Hunting fellas
  15. I set those bottom pins out to 50 and 60 and use them for practice all summer. Come fall, a deers vitals at 20 yds looks really big compared to a 6 inch target at 60

I picked up the 100 gr NAP hellrazor's this yr.. Less than an inch difference from field points @20 yds. and they come SHHHHARRP right out of the boxds.
  17. I've definitley noticed a lack of buck spoecific sign.. I dont have a rub or scrape when i set my stands last weekend, this area is normally pretty tore up.. As for acorns, i haven't seen much of anything
