I had a post up, almost identical a few months ago, when i went to the shop to shoot the mission and the assassin, they also had a Hoyt Rampage XT there.. Once i shot the Hoyt i was sold.. Its a little more pricey(approx) 600 bare bow, but i felt for me anyway, it was alot more bow for the money.

Had a great year in 7m.. Saw deer every day. Did most of my bowhunting in 7j and saved 7m for gun.. took a 170# 8 point and a decent spike through gun and muzzleloader..

Sam, 7 yr old Beagle... "Technically" still a rabbit hunter.

Basically no snow for the season in Central NY, im hoping it will balance out the herd, as last years 200 inches of snow im sure hurt numbers slightly. From what i can see in my scouting, the deer have ample food, are looking very well nurished up here.. If nothing else, im hoping it helps the bucks grow bigger racks, as the years after a hard winter, they have to replenish body weight before growing antlers.

Thought id share a few pics of a coyote my hunting buddy shot this season. We couldn't decide if it was just a big healthy coyote, or perhaps he had a little wolf in him.. Any o;pin ions to help settle this(there is a bet involved) would be appreciated.

LOL i've done that.. Most of these guys don;t fish, so they have no idea whats going on on Oneida Lake or Lake Ontario, i've listened to store people tell rookie fisherman to buy all these bass soft plastics and shit for walleye it always gets me laughing.

Not at all, can always use a good laugh.. I spent some time on the AT classifieds last night, you guys weren't kidding.. Several 2010 bows for 3-400 under what theyd cost in the store.. Thanks for the help

Not necessarily where i'd hope this post would go, but its sure got me laughin. lol. The used bow was interesting, i've always been a little leary about buying used bc id be afraid the previous ower didnt take care of it.

I'm looking to buy a new bow this spring, as my old bear is pushing 12 yrs old at this point..I have my eye on the Bowtech Assassin or the new Mission Riot. I'm leaning towards the Riot, right now because i perfer to add my own components, and dont like any of the RAK gear on the Assassins. Was wondering if anyone owned a Riot, and what they thought of it. I'm going to be shooting both of them next month, unfortunately I only will have 6-700 totalto put into this, thtas with a new (WB and IQ sight) so my options are somewhat limited. Any input would be appreciated, or any expirience with other bows in the same pirce range... T-9 months and 29 days

Any success with the decoys? i've toyed with the idea of buying one or two the last few years, was windering if you found it worthwhile

I think the heat is really slowing things down during daylight hours, my plan of attack has been setting up between doe areas and buck bedding areas super early, and trying to catch them coming back

My first yr with the bow, was a tad frustrating. Having to readjust my stand placement for 20-30 yd encounters instead of the 70-80yd shots a perfer during rifle season turned out to be more difficult than i thought. I saw and missed several nice bucks the last few weeks, but i purposely stayed out of one area with the intention of hunting it opening day of rifle. I found this area, on stateland, a few years back, and had seen a small 8 there last opening day. The stateland gets hunted hard, so i didnt sit the stand at all last year, deciding opening morning this year would give me an opportunity at an unpressured buck, that had another year to grow. Got in the stand at 5:45, had this fella down by 8:30, making me the volunteer designated deer driver for the rest of the guys who havent tagged out yet.

Leave it to the governemnt to take a simple situation,complicating the hell out of it, and stick you a bill for their services.
