  1. I think I have a deer problem. I've had the cameras out for the last few weeks in a main funnel area. The cameras are set up about 25 yards from my stand. Still a few nice bucks lingering around carrying head gear, and one freak that showed up after the season. Looks like one buck finally dropped his left side. Once I start to get a bunch of pictures of antlerless bucks I'll start walking around looking for sheds. Until then, the woods belong to them. In a few of the pics you can see the deer looking at my other camera.
  2. I'd sell the bow as is. I'm sure you can get a few hundred bucks for it on AT. Those Mathews bows are still sought after by many. Or if you have a son/daughter or niece/nephew who are interested in shooting have it restrung and give it to them.
  3. Here's a 1 1/2 year old 8 point. I've seen fawns on my property with 2-3" spikes in the fall.
  4. It's pretty quiet. I wear it late season bow hunting if it's not terribly cold.
  5. Those are super nice guns. Guy I used to work with ordered the classic select (I think) in a .257 Roberts about 5-6 years ago. Wanted a special type of grain in the stock so it took forever. Think it set him back around $2300 (left handed model was a little more). After about 1 1/2 years he got his gun. First time on the range bench shooting huge crack in the fore end appeared. Needless to say he was pissed. He contacted the company and hand delivered it to the NY office. They took the gun back no issues. They also paid for him fly out to Montana for a personal tour of their site. He said they were extremely apologetic and also refunded him some money because they weren't able to get the type of stock he wanted. He was overly pleased with his experience with Kimber. If I ever decide to spend that type of money on a gun I'll give them a try.
  6. This is similar to what I have for still hunting in the snow. I don't wear it much since we barely have snow during hunting season where I live. I primarily use it up north at hunting camp. I usually wear the UA cold gear compression long sleeve shirt under it and have no issues even with temps into the 20's. http://www.scentlok.com/shop/products/cool-weather/men/full-season-velocity-jacket/ http://www.scentlok.com/shop/products/cool-weather/men/full-season-velocity-pant/
  7. AR or no AR, I'll still be hunting. I shoot several does a year (6 last year) and try to shoot mature bucks as it is. I'll just wait and see what happens.
  8. Ok, I may be interested in some. I can PM you when I find out for certain. Thanks.
  9. Just heard today of a big 12 that my neighbor shot the lower front leg off of during gun. According to him it was about a 200 yard shot with a shotgun with open sights. It survived the season cause he's been seeing it at night by his corn crib.
  10. I particularly like the mainframe 10 that is heavy horned. He and the one with the giant split G2 are are awesome. From the video I would say a few of them are related. I'm hoping to see you holding some of those sheds soon.
  11. I have 3 Browning's that I received over the last 2 months, 2 Dark Ops (black flash) and 1 Strike Force (IR). I am pleased with the results that I have seen so far. I am still figuring these out and trying to find the best settings for them. This is my first time using the no glow black flash style cams. For the money they don't seem to be horrible. I am most impressed with the battery life and trigger speed. I have attached some of my most recent pictures from the cams. Black Ops-This cam is located in some dense hardwoods and is facing directly south. Black Ops-This cam is located on the edge of the dense hardwoods in a thicket type of area and facing north. Strike Force-This cam is located in dense hardwoods as well and is facing south east.
  12. Not to derail the thread, but my next bow will be an Obsession. Shot the Evolution and Sniper GT early this fall...can you say heaven? I'm waiting for my shop to get the 2015 models in and then I'll have mine. Probably going with the Sniper GT. They are both absolute monsters but I just liked how the Sniper felt compared to the evolution. If anyone is looking to buy one, my shop sells them for $829. Im pretty sure that includes a Copper John site too.http://www.obsessionbows.com/products.html
  13. I think you read into my comment too deeply. I'm not saying it would have been horrible if the coyotes would have been able to consume the deer. I was commending him on putting her out of her misery when he found her. Understandably so, I know that very few if any of a coyotes kills are ever quick or humanely. I have no issues with the role predators play in our ecosystem, as they are a very important part. He was a hunter who was hunting deer along with the coyotes. He just so happened to stumble upon the same deer as the coyotes. Like you said, man is the worlds greatest predator and man just so happened to win this battle. It may have ended much more drastically had he actually seen the coyotes in action as I'm sure he may have potentially killed one. It's not a perfect scenario any way we look at it. I'm sure being a guy with a substantial knowledge of hunting and outdoors you get the fact that this type of thing happens.
  14. Risqué? Where, I want to see these.
  15. Yup. Pulled 4 stands today and will pull the rest tomorrow. I like to take them down and repaint, lube, and repair any that need it. Also hung 4 cams today so I can check for the survivors. I'll go through the woods and cut up downed trees and cut trees that need to be felled throughout the winter.
  16. Jeez could you take any cuter pictures? I love these dogs. I tried to talk the wife into getting one but she won't have it. Our Brittany is getting old now so I'm sure we'll wait till after he's gone to get a new pup. Good luck!
  17. I live near the Auburn one, they typically run post hunting season sales throughout the winter. That's a pretty good sale. If it's something you really want, I wouldn't wait, these are probably items they won't be stocking any longer and are trying to evacuate the inventory to make room for the new stuff. If you wait, you risk not finding any in your size. I know they will honor the price for 30 days. So if you purchase something and it goes on sale at a lower price, they will refund you the price. At least I know they have done that for me. Also, check BPS online. They will match the online price in store. They don't always have the same prices in store and online.
  18. I shot the STAN shootoff four finger today...love it. Just not sure I want to dish out $225 right now. It was amazing how it completely eliminates "creep".
  19. I don't think you can go wrong with the Covert cameras. I personally don't have any, but have heard nothing but good stuff about them on here as well as from a friend who uses nothing but the Coverts. I just recently got 3 Browning trail cameras and have no issues with them so far (knock on wood). I have a post on here you can check out. The black flash cameras are about $150 a piece, they come with 8gb memory card, and 2 year warranty from trailcampro.com. I am very pleased with the battery life so far. I have only seen a 1-2% decrease on rechargeable batteries since November.
  20. He aged him 2 1/2 which shocked me. I'm almost certain this deer was 3 1/2 from the pictures I have. He said he's not a pro at aging deer though so there's a chance he's off. I never looked at the bottom jaw either. Kinda feel bad if he really was 2 1/2. Makes me second guess my live deer aging ability.
  21. Some pretty good guesses guys. He grossed 113 6/8, not a giant but he's my best bow buck so far and I'm not displeased with him. Charge for the Euro, $100. He uses dermestid Beatles then whitens with peroxide. You can also have it dipped in various patterns, think that was an extra $30-$40.
