Little update. We are up to $860 but a wonderful donor just raised the bar for us. He was their comment on the Go Fund me page. "We'd like to challenge ALL to help get this going ! My Family will Match $400 more donations ! Here's OUR first $100.What a great way to help those in need AND show Sportsmen and women's true colors !!!!" So since they already tossed in 100 of their 400 match I need to the total to hit $1500 and they will donate another $300. That will give a total donation with match of $2,800. That will process and serve 11,200 servings of Venison. Could I get the members here to pass this link to their contacts and see if we can hit this milestone? https://www.gofundme.com/grst-qdma-feed-those-in-need

Canning thread started!
Culvercreek hunt club replied to REDNECK4LIFE32's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
I know Fletch is not a newbie to this but if anyone isn't familiar how to can items that are NOT acidic (like meat), please read up on it first. It is an entirely different process and requires different equipment to kill off just what Jerkman referenced. -
We are using pipe fitters and plumbers. Electricians in r same boat

They aren't looking hard enough or made poor decisions in acquiring all that college debt. If a person wants to learn a skilled trade there are literally boat loads of opportunities just not many in NY thanks to the high tax environment. . Our apprenticeships for high school grads start out at $19 and hour in MD. Raise every 6 months and we pay the schooling and books. At end of 4 years (22 years old) they are at 38 an hour. another year (23 years old) to make certified craft and that up to $42. Foreman is $46 This program isn't unique.

I was going to be 100% for the first time in my life this year. Then I broke the middle finger on my string hand. looks like first couple weeks will be compound and release. -
what ages are you talking about when you say young people?

That is what is happening. Refraction at the edge of the lens. I drilled a tree without the glasses on that should have been a chip shot like I was practicing. Next time you shoot. Move the glasses out on your nose just a bit so that when you line up you are just on the lens. Slide you head out just a whisker to look by the edge of the lens and over your nose. watch how that pin jumps location.

let me caution you. Shoot the bow without your glasses before you hunt without them. I wore glasses frequently and hunted with them for a couple years. It was misty one day and I took them off. I missed a shot a a doe at 30 yards. I went back to the house and shot at the target and I was off about what I missed by. I was cold and wet so I hung up the bow and was going to resight it in the next morning. Nice day. Walked out and had my glasses on and it was dead on. after much head scratching and testing it was the glasses. my form has my right eye looking down the bridge of my nose and out the far left side of the right eye lens. That area of the lens was not ground like the middle and actually was refracting the light. I could not hold the same POI with them on and off. SO I don't wear them now.

Giving My First NYS Hunter Education Class

Thank you for what you are doing Grampy. -
I found some of her inconsistencies bothersome. Right down to her "fear of flying" so she would have to postpone testimony. Then it was brought up by counsel that she jets all over the world for her hobbies and visiting family every year. That came across as staged to achieve the purpose of delaying the hearing and subsequent vote and not in a effort to get to the bottom of this. Like you said the burden of proof should be on the accuser. She didn't provide any other than her statement in my opinion. I do find it funny how the Dems are screaming to withdraw him from consideration and that her word should be enough and those same people certainly didn't take the same view with Clinton about his escapades.

Well all 5 of the participants drew BOTH their Doe tags for the areas we submitted in. We also will be hitting a few properties in 8H but we didn't draw there. Figured we would wait until November 1 to pick those up on the second drawing. Since they don't have camo or hunting clothes and they have never been in stands, we will be using hunting blinds for the most part. A few properties have box style blinds that we will use but to fit the hunter and Mentor in a blind we just picked up these to use. Getting good reviews and I love the size. Plus waterproof. I like not being tied to a window and being able to have the horizontal "slit" at about any height you want for the shooter. https://express.google.com/u/0/product/5815428380498169840_5560194375744152540_1699011?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=tu_cu&utm_content=eid-lsjeuxoeqt,eid-4160052,eid-ygcnqnyulq&gtim=CP_Irev5tIyK2AEQkI-A0KnLlf8pGPC6gnsiA1VTRCiQzNXdBQ&utm_campaign=1699011&gclid=CjwKCAjworfdBRA7EiwAKX9HePhFn6OIcG6LSIoNg4LRwBxTnaLM2Tie7trdmuJPL-i8ZiK5gE_bdhoC3zQQAvD_BwE

No. It makes you a shrinking minority...lol -
Our QDMA branch had a table there for 2 years some time back. It was at the Region 8 headquarters. The Booth pricing was getting high (Typical NYS fashion). and what vendors were there, many we kind of junky to be honest. It's why I don't go the the State Fair anymore. loaded with crap vendors and they didn't do a good job of promoting the shows and events i guess. I remember going to the national hunting and fishing days and it was packed. water dog demonstrations and lots to do. Now it seemed like a quick spin through vendor tables and out.

I am so unprepared it isn't funny. I've been tied up at work and these other projects and can't seem to get anything done. I had more time when my Daughter was in school ,,lol

Tractor Supply Bait for Deer
Culvercreek hunt club replied to sits in trees's topic in General Chit Chat
They will even airdrop to remote locations. I hear -
Last night was our last class. We covered a lot about shot placement and shot angles. Field dressing and some processing. We also discussed what they can expect on the hunt and how to prepare. We have a date picked out for the range day (October 7th) to shoot the rifles/shotguns they will be hunting with. I lost our "range" that I had access too so I am scrambling a bit to find access someplace. Today and tomorrow night I am meeting the participants and we are buying them their licenses and DMP's. They are pretty excited bunch.
