Have you or someone you know ever shot a deer with gang green
Culvercreek hunt club replied to rob-c's topic in Deer Hunting
Shot a half dozen or so in our group over the years. We have never eaten any of them. Right or wrong in my mind an infection is in the blood stream and I am not eating that. -
Kitchen sink cut outs are PERFECT cutting board size.

It was tongue in cheek. What I get a kick out of is his claiming he was black balled. The reports I have seen is that he was offered contracts but they were one year contracts and not for Starting QB money. I see NFL or other pro sports contracts as a 3 way scale. talent, cost and problems/baggage. when one of the 3 tip the scale more than the others they are out. With his high maintenance and PR issues with many fans weighing against his failing talent the only way to balance it is low cost. he just has a higher opinion of himself than others have.

I could really care less who they choose. Their choice or any manufacturers' choice will guide my spending. I couldn't tell you the last time I bought Nike anything for me. I will say that my daughter won't be buying any Nike unless it's her money. To me this falls into the same category that Dicks/Filed and Stream did with the gun issues....chose not to sell AR's and raised the age to purchase to 21. Nike is making a PR bet and time will tell if it pays out.

Free pass from significant other . Who ?

I think I just threw up in my mouth -
I've used a 22-250 on a few nuisance permit does and the results were devastating. But when there are 2 deer in the field and you can wait for the perfect shot you want it certainly isn't your average hunting scenario. I hunt with a '06 almost exclusively in rifle country but have never seen the internals jellied like that 22-250 did on those two. It was a good bullet and handloads but I'll certainly stick with my '06 becasue that shoulder doesn't scare me in the least with that one. I wouldn't opt for anything other than a perfect broadside shot when the deer was calm with a 22 caliber centerfire.

And she is actually my age, not my daughters. It freaks me out about some of these conversations when the ladies are so young. -

Well wanted to update on this. We had a very warm reception at the Market and only 4 days after that we have 8 participants that have signed up and paid their deposit. I believe it will fill up based on the people I have spoken with that gave up contact info at the market. BUT until I get the deposit I'll not count my chickens. I am actually surprised by the make up of the class at this point. 2 male young adults in early 20's 1 married couple in their early to mid 30's 3 solo women in early 30's to mid 40's 1 male in his mid 50's That is half the class that is female. I expected a wide age range but not that heavily female. In my correspondence with them, they seem the most excited about this.

Quartering Deer- NYS Regulations
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Keanedog's topic in Deer Processing
I didn't think it was that hard to do laying on the ground. with a knife you can separate vertebra just in front of the shoulders and below the skull. then slice through the muscle on the other side and take it with the spine section in it to trim at home. Seems like the best ones are a good buck or a big doe. The smaller ones can be a pain and frankly not worth it to many -

Having someone follow you is not a legal justification for use of force. If Martin was concerned HE should have called the police IMO. We all know why he didn't, his past history. I am not defending Zimmerman's actions and I agree with him being a scumbag but the reality is that Martin was the first one that took action that was contrary to the law unless someone knows something I don't.
