Tractor Supply Bait for Deer
Culvercreek hunt club replied to sits in trees's topic in General Chit Chat
Right wrong or indifferent, I believe the laws were written to minimize the exchange of saliva. It's more likely to happen at a feed station or pile than a food plot or AG field. -
Warning - Check Those Tow Ropes!!
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Bow Hunting
It's the UV light. I put up some sun sails on the back deck this year. They worked great but my wife wasn't 100% sold on the idea so I used rope. 3/16" braided from Lowes to hang them temporarily. I didn't want to spent the cash on the coated cable and crimps if she ended up not wanting the. 8 weeks in full sun the rope just fell apart. -
This weekend Saturday we had the NYS Hunter Education class for the participants. It was a full day and I was glad i sat through it too. There were a couple things on the laws that I honestly didn't know had changed. I guess this old dog still can learn a few new tricks. The participants did GREAT and were very engaged. Our branch Secretary/Treasurer doesn't hunt but she sat through the course as well. I am really lobbying to get her involved but she just wanted to have a good understanding of what we all are talking about during our meetings. We had a break at lunch and enjoyed some very fine venison dishes. We had venison chili and venison empanadas. Well my diet went out the window that day becasue it was all delicious. After the test we headed out the the instructors property nearby and had some hands on gun safety and shooting. We also did some tree stand safety and demonstrations. Some of the participants had never squeezed a trigger before. Some had very limited experience. I can't tell you how well they all did but the pics with those smiles about say about all that needs to be said.

I don't think there is a chance that this is credible. If I were the Republicans I would give her a chance to sit and provide PROOF and without "conditions" if she isn't willing then move the vote forward. We need to show them that if they throw up a roadblock we'll either step over it or walk around it. It's time for the gloves to come off and in the words of Obama, "Elections have consequences".

Definitely NOT a climber or even lock on type of a tree...lol.

If your definition of poaching is the breaking of a game law it actually would have been poaching. First he did it on posted land with out permission. Second PA has Wanton Waste laws Sec. 2305. Retrieval and disposition of killed or wounded game or wildlife. (a) General rule.--It is unlawful for any person who kills or wounds any game or wildlife while engaged in any activities permitted by this title to refuse or neglect to make a reasonable effort to retrieve, retain or lawfully dispose of such game or wildlife.

But they pain you less if you cut one up for knife handles...lol. Send me any of those not meaning anything.

Hang in there Eddie. I am praying for a full and speedy recovery for you. -
In PA- so maybe he was referencing a story about last year???? Hunting----COYOTES: No closed season. No limit. Outside of any big game season (deer, bear, elk and turkey), coyotes may be taken with a hunting license or a furtaker license, and without wearing orange. During any big game season, coyotes may be taken while lawfully hunting big game or with a furtaker license. Trapping---- COYOTES, FOXES, OPOSSUMS, RACCOONS, STRIPED SKUNKS and WEASELS: Oct. 21–Feb. 17. No limit. COYOTES and FOXES (Statewide) cable restraints: Dec. 26-Feb. 17. No limit. Participants must pass cable restraint certification course.

Just print, sign and have with you with your license and ML tags.

The guy is basically a criminal and I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't as visible as he made out. We won't know for sure but I do think if I were trapping I would be a bit more discrete. It does amaze me at how many people go about their business going down a road and have no clue what is happening feet off the road to say anything about off in a field. I cringe when I see folks at highway speeds and a deer on the shoulder and they don't even see it, not even a touch of a brake pedal.

Let's try this. Archery and Muzzleloader are special privileges. When you buy your first special privilege you get an either sex tag When you buy your second special privilege you get an antlerless only tag. Either of those can be used in either season if you bought both special privileges. So you could fill both during bow or both during Muzzleloader. (or crossbow) You are correct that a ML privilege must be bought to hunt with a crossbow. During the time and area where you can legally hunt with a crossbow you can fill any special privilege tag you bought. If you make it through the southern zone regular season and do not fill your "buck" tag. it can be filled with and used as an either sex tag. So if you bought bow and ML and didn't fill your regular season you could take 3 antlerless in late season with either bow, crossbow or ML Don't forget your crossbow certification paper

Hope your day is more than you wish for. -
We have only raised $245 so far on this. If any of you can participate it would be greatly appreciated. A Donation of just $5-$10 (when you add in the branch's matching) means 40-80 servings of venison to the hungry. Please, at least pass this on through your networks. grst-qdma-feed-those-in-need Thanks

Hunting NY community, An opportunity has presented itself to do something good as well as meet one of National QDMA's goals to step up participation in venison donation programs. SO we are moving full steam ahead but I need ALL of your help if you can. The Venison Donation Coalition (VDC) is a not for profit organization that funds processors when they cut up deer donated to the program. The processors do it for a reduced rate and when it's said and done it cost about $1 to put 4 servings of Venison into programs to feed the hungry in NY. Rather than just donating to the VDC we are taking a little different approach to leverage a donation from the branch. We have set up a Go Fund Me campaign and the branch will match dollar for dollar, any donations made to our campaign up to $1,000. That would be $2,000 and 8,000 servings and lives touched. In typical NYS fashion, even though they "Partner" with the Venison Donation Coalition and provide grants for it to operate the bulk of the operation comes from donations. Have you ever been asked while purchasing your license if you would like to contribute to the venison donation program? Well that money goes here. I did not know that and never contributed because I figured it was more money going to the state pockets and I never bought in to it. Well know I know. Let's do something good. I think $1,000 in donations can be hit and I hope you can help me do it. Here is what I need from each of you. Open this link. If you would like to contribute that would be wonderful. Every little bit helps. What I also need is for you share through your Facebook, email listings and contacts, then ask that they do the same. grst-qdma-feed-those-in-need Thank you Bob (Culver Creek)

Thunder chickens. They do eat very well. Love the drumming in the spring.
