FREE COLLEGE !!!!
Culvercreek hunt club replied to growalot's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I've smelled it on the job and I have fired guys for booze in a thermos. In all honesty, in my younger days on construction and workign out of town, i never missed a day of work from partying the night before. But there were probably a few mornings that I wouldn't have passed a test when I showed up. Times change. Sorry for the tangent. -

I actually agree with you to a point. Alcohol is actually legal yet you can terminate employment if someone shows up under the influence. Very easy test for that. Pot is a tougher nut to crack becasue the available test isn't testing for whether someone is high or not. it is testing for a metabolite in the body that is a byproduct of the use. That stays there for weeks. So a guy that smokes on Friday night, shows up for work on Monday and gets pulled for a random drug test will hit positive. He isn't high but the test shows positive. I see this becoming a legal nightmare with some states legal and others not. The difference in the state and federal law adds another level to it as well. It will end up in the courts in the near future,i woudl expect. -
What's for dinner tonight?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to philoshop's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
Well it isn't for dinner and I don't have a pic of it becasue it went in my stomach so fast but I just finished the best turkey noodle soup made from the left overs of a smoked turkey I did. OMG!!! what a wonderful light smokey flavor. the broth was made with everything caught in the foil pan under the bird while it cooked (veggies added for flavor during the smoking operation then tossed). cooled, skimmed fat off, doubled volume with water, added carcass and cooked down. removed bones and added veggies. I freeze it without adding noodles becasue they get mushy when frozen. -

I don't get the not showing up for work. I mean sure stuff happens but it is habitual. It wasn't like they got canned after one absence. It just happens that all 8 of these candidates were hired from a program to give inner city youth a chance. All 8 said the work was just too hard. I think they lack motivation and HUNGER is a great motivator. -
What $10? it's free

They won't do overtime. They aren't on a deadline to process anything. We are on one to submit.

what would happen to their efforts if everyone of us sent them in on January 30th 2018? They would get through it but it would be a PITA for them.
-
I'm not saying to not do it. but screw them doing it a year ahead of time

From what I understand you are correct on this round. I heard that those that got their permit AFTER the 2013 date will get an reminder letter a month or two before their 5 year date is up.

Everyone should unless you want your info to be subject to inclusion during a FOIL

I've had 8 wash out of an apprenticeship in the last two years in Baltimore. They did alright in the schooling but couldn't show up for work or got booted on random drug tests. -
welding rebar can be a bear and kind of unpredictable. it is such a mixed pot of metal composition that sometimes welds don't hold to well.

Let me answer that with another topic. It is still a federal crime to possess marijuana. That didn't stop the states from legalizing it with a law. I believe the best bet is to stack the court and mount a challenge.

They will never get that through as "just cause". One reason why this Presidential election was so important. That one or more SCOTUS seat (s) are needed to reign some of this crap in. Personally, while there is support, the house and Senate and holding the White House, it seems like a PERFECT time to start the process to rewrite the 2nd amendment and clearly define it. As long as they are at it I would take a run at the 14th amendment as well and clarify the anchor baby issue.

Presidential Sabotage?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Doc's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Virgil, For me I felt like crap in 2008. I knew his policies were contradictory to what I believed in. I knew I would oppose him in any fashion I could and speak out against them as well. I never felt like it would be wise to implement last minute actions to hurt the country prior to him taking office. In all honesty anything Obama tries to do know holds no water. He doesn't have the house or senate to pass anything so his only option is Executive Actions and those can easily be removed with a swipe of a pen once Trump is in. I have read a few articles that they are amassing a list of Obama's EA's to do just that. So it makes good news but it is all pomp and flair. Obama is a lame duck and short of starting a war in thee next 14 days, he's done. -
I am not sending mine in until the very last minute. I would suggest that everyone do the same. Just one last finger in the eye to them for the whole Un Safe Act.

The other thing I don't agree with is federal or state aid towards useless degrees. Study what you want but the tax payers should only be "aiding" in a degree that would be useful in the economy. I probably already posted this but about a year ago I was hiring for a $15-20 and hour receptionist. I got over 150 resumes in two weeks and had to pull the ad. Probably 50% had unrelated Bachelor's degrees and 20% with Masters degrees. I have to chuckle reading the resumes with some of the "majors" that are listed. -
