Dads 7400 clipped them off pretty heavily. That is why we switched -
Glad you are ok. I have seen that happen more than once with tree tops that are dead and rotten.

I load my father's 270 with Nosler Partition 130 gr. works well up close and out to 200 yards. (maybe further but that is as far as he has used them) -

Jimmy Hoffa is in there

Well if he want to take the sissy way out, that is what he should do. If he wants to be a real man, mix up some TNT and get it done like they did in the good ol' days.

30.06 Rifle Hunters
Culvercreek hunt club replied to skeets716's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
165 grains and have taken deer and bear. I reload now and use the Sierra Gam Kings but when I shot factory, I shot Federal Premium in 165gr -
I have used the bombs before. Took a really nice 8 that was my first ML buck with it. You don't have to dispense the can all at once. you can press it and not lock it open and it is just like any other aerosol can.

A Good Video - Who We Are (must watch)
Culvercreek hunt club replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in General Chit Chat
Wonderful video. Makes me envy what he does. -
I have done both. Dehydrater seems easier. on the smoker, I added a valve as it runs to the burner. allows to idle it down even further.

Culvercreek hunt club replied to Lawdwaz's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
I have one spot I hint up North. I see more black ones that grey. the property is loaded with them. Always wanted to go un after the season but it is seasonal road and I haven't had that much ambition to hike in through snow for a squirrel...lol -

One of the biggest problems with that high lung hit, especially from the ground, is how little they can bleed. with an entrance and exit hole so high it takes a lot of blood and then it has to run down a lot of hair in order to drip. -

Culvercreek hunt club replied to BowWeldingJohn's topic in Deer Hunting
I am not saying that can't happen. I have seen broadheads lodged in the spine and bone grown around it. I was speaking of you assertion of how the lungs operate. -

google any medical site. breathing does not work as you described. if you go under the spine you are at least cutting lung. Especially if out of a stand. above the spine I have seen those parts of the spine get hit and it makes the deer look like it was hit on the head with a piano. -
a screw on fan tip works best . does nothing to the meat at all and all you might see is a tightening of the slimy membrane that covers the meat. Actually makes it easier to handle to trim the membrane off. any tip will work and the fan tip can be hard to find

You are wrong. the relationship of the outer edge of the lungs to the ribs and spine are the same all the way through the breathing cycle. -
