  1. Joe, This is what I do. I use a rope just a tad bigger than paracord. No for the strength but just easier for me to handle and pull up. I pull up my backpack and bow in one motion. I don't like climbing with my back especially my bowhunting pack becasue it is my quiver as well.
  2. My mistake. Thanks for clearing that up. The point I was making still stands though.
  3. The only way I like watermielon is in a dehydrator. very very sweet and kind of like a kids fruit roll up. but it takes forever, a ot of water in there. I also do mangos.
  4. Here is something to chew on as well for those that say this won't effect them becasue they don't hace pistols or assault weapons. think about shotguns. this was written specifically written for pistols and assault weapon ammunition. there are shotguns classified as assault weapons. so how do they place the unique identifier on the base of that round? A semi aout turkey gun with a pistol grip or thumb hole is an assault weapon by the new classification. so even the shotgun ammo will be impacted by this. If you read the full text there is a sentence that the ammunition retailer will have to keep records for all sales, loans and transfers in the state. wrap your arms around that one.
  5. The trick with any of this smoking is to not allow the mea to touch. In the reicpes I will post, going to have to be next week, (sorry but I let somone borrow my recipe note book and I won't have it until this weekend), SO I will posat next week. the pepperoni and the summer sausage I hang them from the rack and flip them over once during the smoking. at around 115-120 degrees internal temp. I tied the casings. with loops and made some wire S hooks . made it very easy to flip them. I should have taken more pictures. when we do it after this season I will do step by step pics.
  6. Think about the bucks that get an extra year on them then. Should be really impressive and may end up what you really want then.
  7. Eddie, they say the momory is the second thing to go...lol
  8. Apollo, are you a bow hunter? I have a terrible time wearing glassed while shooting my bow. the point of impact is so much different between having the galsses ona nd having them off. if you are already sighted in don't be surprised to see the POI change for you shooting with them on. glasses will have light refraction when looking through at an angle throgh the lense. I use to wear contacts for archery and it wan't a problem then. also no fogging.
  9. I i were going to stray from what is typically thought of as a muzzleloader I would go smokeless but I am not trusting the electric. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the major brands. gimmicks or fads always make me worry about finding parts if they drop the line down the road.
  10. A deer is considered to have antlers if the antlers are 3" or greater. SO you could shoot a buck with spiked smaller than 3" and tag it as and antlerless deer. But I sure wouldn't want to "estimate" incorrectly. If one antler is over 3" then it IS an antlered buck and needs to have 3 legal points on one side. (measured 1" from the line of the main beam) Make sense?
  11. I don't mind. I will type them up and post in a new thread. They are jsut hand written and, trust me, you guys don't want to try an read my hand writing..lol As far as the burned tips on the snack sticks. I had the same problem the first time. I now use a grate to hang them and get them as high in the smoker as I can, BUT I only make them 20" long, fold them in half and feed through the wire rack.. SO basically they are sticks 10" long and you are only putting the meat in the top foot of the smoker. They cook much more evenly that way. I put everything as high up as I can get it to get away form the burner. as an added benefit when you cut them at the bend over the wire they will fit sideways in an 11" vacuum sealer roll.
  12. Welcome WNY. Pull up a chair and dive right in. Where abouts in Western NY are you?

  14. Buddy gave me a couple boxes of the Actives. They shot great. Was weird seeing an all plastic hull though.
  15. Grow, really hard to tell for sure on boarderline deer but I think the drop tine will be 3.5 or he is a slammer 2.5. I think the one with the 10 is a really good 2.5 doesn't do him justice in the pic with the 10. The 10 is a horse. the 10 is mature. put him onthe ground and check his teeth...lol.
  16. I used to buy the 10 box sleeve of them before the season during that sale. Usually that would get me through opening day.
  17. LOL They did sell them a bill of goods withthe initial manufacture didn't they? Probably one of the most fussy guns I have seen about grime and dirt. The AK could be used to dig a hole and still fire.
  18. http://www.globalindustrial.com/p/building-materials/degreasers-lubricants/lubricants-industrial/3-oz-tube-super-lube-silicone-high-dielectric-vacuum-grease?utm_source=google_pr&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Lubricants-Industrial-google_pr&infoParam.campaignId=T9F&gclid=CM2e1_v1_LgCFZOk4AodI2IAVg keep you prongs and sockets coated in this and it won't corrode and will give you many more years of use.
  19. 1.4 million and a pretty hot wife. Fat Frat boy is paying off...lol
  20. decreasing hours of light seems to trigger the turn of the bean plants. I had two fields a coupl eyears ago that were planted about a month apart. the plants were different sizes but both fields turned at the same time. Frost will speed this up but you may get a week of hunting it. As Phade said. (and didn't say..lol) go glass the beans and drive yourself absolutely nuts!!! becasue it seems the biggest bucks in an area are most visible this month and they sure seem to turn up in the beans right now. Then in October you can be with the rest of us when we start pulling our hair out wondering which state they all moved too.
