Well the is some but not much information on the actuall loading of sabot slugs. A lot of info on the Foster style. I am taking the off season to work on my reloading and shootig and one thing I am doing is makig my own sabots for the 12 guage. What I am shooting now can run between 13-18 bucks a box and that just plain sucks. I am going to use this thread to keep you all updated on the progress and I hope the accuracy can be what I think it can. If it all works out instead of 3 bucks a shell I will be at about 1.50 a shell and that is because of the cost of the Remington .50 caliber coerlokt bullet I sellected to start. The goals. An accurate shell for slug hunting. want 3" group at 100 yards $1.50 a round or less using premium components Muzzle velocity at between 1800 and 2100 fps. 2-3/4" shells The order is placed for all the components and will be in next week.

New York Crossbow Hunters..

Big Tom---Then don't specifically address the crossbow. they dont talk about every type of gun in the hunter safety course. simple teach the bow course and require it for the use of a crossbow. -
New York Crossbow Hunters..

That is unfoirtunate, Bubba. The skills , tips and other things taught in the Bow class would help the crossbow hunters more than just the hunters safety course. Things like blood trailing, how the arrow actually kills, waiting time and such. -
WTB: 12 ga. reloading press
Culvercreek hunt club posted a topic in Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
Looking to get into it to support my new mwmbership at the range. Interested in 12 ga that will do 2-3/4" and 3" . Depending on the deal, I am not set in stone on single stage or progressive. PM me with any that you may have. -
Mine never seemed to mind it. I have been shootig since I was 8. I am not really sure in my own yard I would view the law the same as at a range....theorectumly speaking of course

shlf life on twinkies is about 200 years from what I hear...lol -
When I was shooting in an indoor league I had a friend that went through this. At the time I was using a 4x power site scope on my bow (bad eyes and was having a problem with the refraction out the side of my glasses). I got new glasses and suggested he try my scope. It actually did the trick right away and from what others otld us it could have been that the site picture using a magnified view was taking him out of what he "normally" looked at and removed that mental trigger. Sounds like this is not that uncommon of an occurance. I am glad it was brought up

44 Mag pistol loads for Deer
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Buckheart's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I was looking into reloading those. couldn't you just run the 30-30 brass (really lubed up) through a 7-30 sizing die then fire form to you chamber. You could just neck size from there? right? I am just neck sizing my 308 ammo for the Encore. the second time I shot it the pattern closed up by half compared for factory fresh brass. I am on the 3rd reloading and the guage still hasn't allowed any trimming. How hot were you loading the rounds? -
I like the laminate too. Especially since I already had the rifle forearm and then the grip popped up for sale in the matching color. Was Karma...lol. A little modification of the hole spacing and hole depth, addition of another swivel stud and it was ready to go. I did find a website that sells these stocks just bout like I have in all kinds of custom color combinations. Would have run me over 200 buck for the set. I have about 100 into it. At the range the tables at the rifle targets are under a pavillion. I was in plugs and muffs and glad I was....with no brake. I woulnd't want to shoot a brake under there if other folks were shooting. One guy had this AK loking thing there with a brake. standing...freehand..way too fast on the trigger....shooting at 200 yard targets. He had to go through a couple hundred rounds. I checked in my spotting scope and all he did was add weight to the berm so it wouldn't blow away...lol. but that thing was like a cannon going off under there. made me flinch a couple times while shooting. Oh...and as a matter or range etiquette....is you are shooting a semi auto....use a brass catcher or at least offer to move to the far right station (for right handed shooters of course)

Eddie...that was one of the calibers I wanted in my Encore. I wanted that or the 7mm-08. Ended up with the 308....couldn't pass up the deal. I really wanted that 7mmor bullet though -
44 Mag pistol loads for Deer

I would agree NFA-ADK. For me I would put the 44 Mag at the low end of the Medium game round. 50 yards and in. I carried my 357 last year and that was mainly because...well.....because I finally could...lol. I will carry it again but it is a back up and mainly to finish or a quick close follow up with my ML in shotgun areas. -

Well inside 150 yards you will find rounds that have energy in the same rating as the 30-30. but let's stay conservative. I bet most NYdeer shots are under 100 yards. if you get a well constructed bullet for the purpose and it is designed for the speeds you are shooting it will perform well. Inside 100 yards the pistol rounds in 44 mag and up ( Long colt, 454 casull,460...475...480 and the 50) have similar if not supperior energy ratings to the 30-30. Are we going to sit here and say that the 30-30 in an inferior and unsuitable hunting round? I think a bigger problem for pistols is the selection of bullets and the available choices out there. They are getting better every year. My 2 cents. -
And in our sue happy counrty (sponsored and encouraged by the govt) you can have a lawsuit brought against you in a heart beat with NO merit at all. You can beat it but if they go to Dept of labor they incur no cost but he company racks up legal bills defending. You may win them but it still costs a bunch. I have dealt with 5 in the last 2 years

That is perfect Doc. I was actually wondering if they could find a way around it but I was thinking....do they wash all their money before they touch it? Do they clean out the shopping cart before they use it. There are a lot of thing that could have secondary "contamination" ...or is this just a convenient wasy to be less productive that the other cashiers.
