Question on sound proofing
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Deerthug's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
I was kind of expecting it to stick to the foil . It would act like a shell over the car. I have had success before using Pam cooking oil to keep the spray foam from sticking. If the foil would screw with the signal to the car yu could form it. Pam it. Spray it and peel the foil off after it set -

Question on sound proofing
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Deerthug's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
How about placing aluminum foil over it to act as a barrier and spray foam on top of it. That is good for sound and can be shaped, sanded and p[ainted as you need to -

Seems it to me too. Not sure why they threw that in there. -
I am debating on the brake part. would make it easier to practice. I wonder how much you give up having a brake?

I would hope the charges would be dropped. This could have gone wrong if the guy didn't fire too. Legally he would have a right to hold the guy at gun point until the police arrived. NH just passed (this past September) a pretty good law that expanded the rights of gun owners in protecting themselves. On the subject of self defense, New Hampshire is about to enter a new era in which citizens have broader authority to make their own decisions. On Wednesday, the House overrode Gov. John Lynch’s veto of Senate Bill 88. The Senate had overridden the veto the week before. The bill changes state weapons laws in four important ways. 1. It removes the mere display of a weapon from the state’s definition of what constitutes the use of “deadly force.” 2. It removes the mandatory prison sentence for felonies committed while in possession of or using or attempting to use a firearm. 3. It holds immune from civil suits (but not criminal prosecution) people who use force to defend themselves or someone else. 4. It allows the use of deadly force anywhere one has the legal right to be, not just in one’s home or on one’s own property. SO you can use other than deadly force to detain a person in the commition of a felony. and by the new law presenting a firearm is no longer deadly force. Seems to be the sticking point is the shooting in the ground part. He should have disp[layed, verbally commanded and if confronted/attacked....double tap. -
A pistol is like a rifle or shotgun. everyone out there will kill a deer. limited by shot placement and effective range. I will be carrying my .357 this year in the hopes of taking a deer with it. This will be a secondary wepon though. I will be purchasing a set of grips and a barrel for my encore and I am leaning towars the 7-30 Walthers. (30-30 necked down to 7mm)

Pistol becomes a Rifle?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Moosemaple's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I think it might be important to look at the information in a chronological order. The most recent information I have seen is the determination that the ATF put out there in the July 2011 posting. Bubba. I know the one you just posted came offf the website but it was also rquoted in articles dating back prior to July 2011. Is that info then older than the July 2011 determination? Freakig Govt!! why not just answer a simple feaking question with a simple freaking answer!! -
Huge Buck Ithaca/Cayuga Heights 16 pt?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to HectorBuckBuster's topic in Bow Hunting
Actually if you look at the overhead there isn't a spot in the cemetary that is outside the 500' rule. He must have had permission from surrounding property owners -
The heart is my favrite but I love Liver and onions too. I thik many people over cook it and that really turns it into a pastey weird texture. I know I will get greif but I have to eat my meat at least pink....all kinds.

To my surprise....
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Grizz1219's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Doesn't really surprise me Grizz. 100 yards isn't that far in the rifle world. I am just gettig into reloading and have been doing a bunch of reading. powders and pressures are funny animals. Same powder charge pushing a heavier bullet could give you higher pressures and actually push your POI higher for a heavier bullet. if you strech that out to much longer range I would bet gravity would take over and you would see a sharper drop for the 1809 that you would for the 150. How did the 3 different manufacturers shoot inthe gun? -
And as long as it meets the requirements of a legal hunting implement.

OK...I have all my stuff. I hav read and reread a reloading manual.Researched components and I am ready to go. I am loading 38+p and 357 pistol ammo to start. I have new and once fired brass Small pistol primers---check Unique Powder---check (buddy recmoomended it) Now here is the question. The manual doesn't have load data for a 125 gr JHP with Unique. The Alliant site however does. But is specifically calls out Speer GDHP (which is a jacketed hollow point) 9.6 grains of Unique (max load) When I am looking at this data....are all JHP's a JHP? LOL I am thinking Alliant and Speer are tied together so that is why it is listed that way. If I back down 10% for a starting load on this I shouldn't have an issue? right? before someone asks I wanted the 158 gr but the 125's were on sale for 1/2 the price of the 158's

You just on cash deals or have you thought of any trades you might like -
I have had the same thing happen at that distance. When it's eyes finally focused on me it sat up on it's hid legs...showed it's teeth and hissed. They have quite a mouth of teeth

AMEN!! I am convinced that they design them to break about 3 miles after the warranty...lol

At the woodline...I really try to pattern just like Deer. Between the roosting area and their early morning food source. For later morning hunts I like to find smaller isolated clearings where a Tom can strut and still feel secure

Now all you guys be careful on the "American Made" statements if we are going to take a side trip into the world of automobiles. Some of those rice burners might fool you
-
Believe it or not some of this stuff is encouraged by our own Govt. Many of the projects we look at have requirements for "Rapidly Renewable Resoures". One of the largest available is BAMBOO. While we do have some it the states it is mainly shipped in.

The first 3 billion produced in NY all had the same fortune....."you will be over taxed in the coming year" and they were right

Camp / Cabin building packages ?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Salmon_Run's topic in General Chit Chat
you purchased 3 boards that were 1x8x10' for $4.50? That is 22 cents a board foot. Shoot me the location. It would be worth the trip for the interior trim for the camp
