send letters for crossbows in NY
Culvercreek hunt club replied to sits in trees's topic in NYS DEC News and Annoucements
Doesn't mean I should lay down and let others work to violate my principles. And there is where you are missing the point of the question that has been asked of you and you refuse to answer. No one is saying you have to hunt with one if they are included...so how would inclusion effect your principles? It could only effect them by the actions of others altering your hunting experience and we are just wondering how -
Pistol guys, a little help please.

There is an indoor range in NH... I think. anyone can rent and shoot there. no certification required. You can rent some pretty cool stuff there too..... http://www.gunsnh.com/pricelists.php long guns are all ceramic bullets to work int he bullet traps. expensive but what a ball -

Shorten the NY Gun Season?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Helderberg Hunter's topic in Deer Hunting
i don't know...maybe it is just me ...but I think if you implement some of these ideas....shorten gun season...no sunday hunting again and a like. it might have the opposite effect on the quality of bucks taken. If the average joe, faced with a shorter season or less opportunity...would be more adpt to take a young buck. -
I'd be in if my schedule allowed. I think it would be great meeting you guys. Even if it started out as a less formal event....State parks seem to work well for these type of things...pavillions and such.

I have pretty good luck with mine on bigger fish but have yet to master the touch for the pan fish. The one I have has 4 blades.....2 large serrated and straight....and 2 small serrated and straight. I have only used the straight blades. Hopefully int he next couple weeks I can give it a try on a pail full of perch

At campI have a 12" long section of 36" diameter schedule 40 steel pipe. It sets up on bricks for air and works great. I mad t grates using stainless steel ones out of an old oven. handles out of angle iron and we cook on them. (chicken halves just like the firemans chicken BBques) I made two brackets that slip onto the pipe and we mount the battery operated rotisserie motor on it to do things like venison hind quarters and pork loins. Nothing beats a roaring fire in the pit! I will get some pics as soon as te snow gets out of camp...lol

I carry a folding knife that has one of those combo blades that is serrated and smooth. That is my utility knife. My father gave me a buck woodsman for my 14th birthday and that has been my hunting knife ever since. It have cleaned and skinned everything form squirrels to birds and whitetails and caribou. 4" thin blade and I love it. the fixed blade is always a plus for me on the clean up and since it is not a leather or bone handle I can put it right in the dishwasher.

I feelin order to have the best shot at the best people teaching our kids we can not have the unions. Where else can you maintain you job just based on the duration you have held it. There is no accountability for any job performance. I am in the private sector....know what...I don't do my job I loose it...that is the way it should be. the best are hired and retained...if you want to be the best...work harder. The crying that is taking place is because the unions are a major contributor to the Dem party. The following holds tru for private and public ---If I was a union member and held very conservative views...the money taken from me in the form of contributions and dues is used to support candidates that I may not wish to have supported. How is that a fair and just system. If my spouse has health care coverage and I do not with to participate in the Union plan...no choice...the deduction is still made. I have been around it and worked in it.....the productivity in a union environment is NOT what it is in an open market. The bloated packages of the public unions has to go. As for them going into the private sector....where will they go. Look at the teachers...where will they go. I look at dozens of resumees every day with Master's degrees that are applying for secretarial jobs. My mother was a public sector employee and I used to tease her that she had better not loose her job because she couldn't make it in the real world.....It was joking but there is some truth. Reviewing resumees....I give less credit during evaluation to public sector experience than I do from the private sector.

I agree 100% I really think the Republicans are as worthless as the Dems. I don't think they are as dangerous to our liberties or freedoms.....but they are just as much to blame for our conditions for allowing things to happen. They are all on the take and very self serving. I think that view is shared by many and it fuel the negative views on here and in the public in general. The feelings of helplessness breeds the overall general views. It does mine. It is hard to believe that all of us folks can see the down turn in the country and politicians can't.....leaves a lot thing they see it and prefer it and that also breeds the conspiracy views....no body can be that blind to not see what is going on...can they?

I think step number one in any proposed action should be tort reform. The legal cost for frivilous suits and crazy high payouts is driving the costs of provided medical care up. Tough to happen since most of our freaking elected officials are in or have ties to the legal fields. You bring a case and it is found without merit YOU pay the legal cost of the defending party I think there needs to be a complete revamp of the requirements to bring medications and procedures to human trial stages. We have to protect the right of the developer to turn a profit and recoup their R&D dollars or there is no incentative to develope new technology. BUT I would think an open book approach may be needed. Am I convinced the protected period for drugs is correct...no...but neither is their ability to basically charge what they want. In my business with the some owners.....a requirement to doing business with them is an open book policy and agreed and shared profit/savings. Develop a drug and recoup cost with an agreed profit margin. No medical coverage provided to anyone that is NOT a US citizen or in the country illegally. Remove the anchor baby loop hole. No public finding to any health care institutions. We have to make them be competative. Abled bodied will have to work for off any health care insurance value they recieve as a public assistance benefit. The days of free rides are over. At minimum wage you will perform tasks for the Govt providing the benefit...county....state. Inmates will work. bring back the old "license plate" lines and they will have to cover any medical costs they incur in the form of an "insurance rate"....no more basketball---you will spend 8 hours a day working your benefits off (housing, food and guarding costs too) This one is going to make me really popular. No one is guaranteed to be taken care of. let's talk about welfare babies and the women on the dole. I say give everyone a shot and a free pass for number one...we all make mistakes. but if you have #2 and you are looking for public assistance...no money for #1 or #2 unless you get your tubes tied. I am not saying you have to but you have just demonstrated your inability to be a contributing member of society. If the Federal Govt wants to get involved they shoudl start their own insurance company...if they can operate it at costs....they can't do it with the post office so I doubt they could make it happen but if they want in and the evil insurance companies are making so much money ....why not provide their coverage at cost and administer the program using the Govt. They can'tmake it work because most in their do not have a business approach to the world k---off my soap box

I guess what frosts me is that the civility is usually one sided. I went up North for ML a couple years back and a buddy went with me. My truck was in the shop so we took his car. we took two doe and our only option was to place on the trunk. they were both shot Sunday afternoon so no option to quarter and cool before heading home. Too warm out to lave in the trunk in my opinion. I felt like a criminal with the reactions heading down the Thruway and can't even tell you how many times we got flipped off between Utica and Rochester. It just seems as much as we try to be civil the opposing side is no holds barred
