  1. Wow that would be cool but Yeah how does that work with shotgun??
  2. Years ago we transported the deer from camp to Long Island. Got dirty looks even the whole family including preteen children giving me the bird!! This was on rt 17 not the Island. Had a guy make a shape with his hand like a gun and pretended to shoot my brother and I on the GWB. It all wasn't worth it. We ended up finding a meat processor at my camp and leave the deer behind. My neighbor will pick them up and store them until I come back up. It's a good excuse to get in a late season hunt. lol
  3. Don't quote me but My BIL said Bass pro had it on sale at the 1st of the month for $169.00. You got a great deal, never bothers me to by the floor model as long as all parts are there.
  4. Wow from this angle it looks like a tall deer. Really nice!
  5. Next week when I put it up. Right now the main section is in the mud room and wouldn't do justice on a picture.
  6. I have some prefect bucks on the wall so I would probably shoot the non-typical. I actually like the different looking racks.
  7. Hope he feels better soon. It's not easy as our parents age.
  8. Just finished putting it together. Pretty simple took about 45 minutes. I was in one a few months ago and loved it. Has a lot of room and a shooting rail that will fold up at bow season. Double rails make it real sturdy. Couldn't beat the price at Cabelas for $189.00.
  9. Not knowing much about crossbows when do you crank that thing up to shoot?
  10. Along the way we saw so many deer in Connecticut on the side of the highway. They were good size also. There were a "few" trees in Vermont changing colors. It was a nice ride for sure.
  11. I actually need new camo for bow. This has been the deal for the last couple of years. I just can't seem to pull the trigger on the camo. My old stuff is ok but……..not happening again this year.lol
  12. Must be so easy when hanging from a pole. Could drop right into a black garbage bag and off you go.
  13. Wow he means business. Great angel on the trail to catch the game.
  14. I remember the days just thinking about being in the stand on opening day or first bow hunt. Where the deer would come from, how big and what typeof shot. It would consume me until the day. You are normal don't worry! lol Funny how you say "catch" a deer. So many of my non hunting friend use that phrase. I say its a harvest, they laugh, you can't harvest a deer. In the end I killed it no sugar-coating the phrase and all is good. Have a great time out there and if you go up a stand make sure you where a safety harness!!
  15. Wooly been shed hunting in your area…………the man has no boundaries! lol
  16. We shot a couple of deer opening day. It got very cold for the rest of the season. Don't you know some of the guts froze into the ground. The crows were such a pain in the ass making noise all day long fighting over the frozen guts. It was a bothersome all day hearing those crows.
  17. Kudos to the lumberjack who set him free! http://kstp.com/news/stories/s3496350.shtml
  18. It's about time I shoot a bear on my property. Had a few chances with bow and missed. So for me if a bear comes along he is fair game, opening day or not. BTW someone posted you won't see deer if bear are around. I saw 7 bear one afternoon sit Mom and 3 cubs also three different males (or solo females). In between the sighting plenty of deer coming down the same trails. BTW one of the bears came into my mock scrape dowsed with Wildlife buck urine! lol
  19. Adult mentor must maintain physical control over the junior hunter at all times while hunting. This means the mentor and junior hunter must be close enough to talk without the aid of a radio and must be able to see each other. So I guess if your tree stand is close enough (within 20 or so yards so you can talk) As for the DMP- Junior Bowhunters may use DMPs during the special archery seasons and during the regular season. Hunters may transfer or receive up to 2 DMPs from other hunters (see Consignment of Deer Management Permits for instructions). You must be 14 years or older with a regular big game hunting license. Junior bowhunters who are 12 years or older with a junior bowhunting license may also apply. I didn't see anything that stated they can't transfer a DMP. I think you are ok on that. Enjoy the hunt. I did this for many years, seeing a kid wide eyed in the woods is great-seeing a kid get their first deer is wonderful. Something you will never forget. It was really great hanging two stands in one tree. I was able to guide the jr hunter through different situations.
  20. My basement flooded. I was out at 4:30 am on a ladder fixing a broken gutter. lol
  21. You need to educate yourself. http://money.cnn.com/2014/08/12/news/companies/robin-williams-charity/ Takes all types………..
