New member here with some questions about Cold Brook Hunts
First-light replied to cnyhunter39's topic in General Hunting
I believe there are a bunch of guys that go from Long Island deer hunters FB page. They always have a great time and love the place. May want to check out their FB page. -
Read an article about how midwest farmers used a tremendous amount of propane to dry corn this season causing the shortage.

Folks, Watch those intersections. Cameras on LI are piping up all over the place. I got caught not coming to a full stop for a right on red. video show it so I'm guilty. Thing is they sent it to my old address and I never got the first citation. So when I got the second it had a $30 late fee. I called up and explained the situation and they told me to "tell it to the judge" nothing they could do about it. Take a day off from work to go explain this for 30 bucks. I don't think so, they win………...

Fellow Long Islanders did you get your new electric bill? The new carrier PSEG sent out new bills that I hope are estimates?? Rates went up (cost of natural gas) so did my usage, thats why I think it is an estimate for the first bill. I will call on Monday. Add it to the every increasing costs for living on LI.

We use a 55 gallon drum with a cutout for a pan For the sap to boil on. Drum is on it's side with a roaring fire Inside. Crude but works fine.

The bears by me 8P use the same travel rout year after year. Most of the time it is at night but you do catch them being lazy when my field is full of corn. They hang around longer in the security of the stalks but then expose themselves when traveling back to the bedding areas. I also like to hunt an escape rout at the bottom of my property when my neighbors field is being harvested. Saw 6 bear in one sit. So i guess you can say hunt the travel routs to and from corn.
