Exhausted after taking these 2 for 2
First-light replied to shawnhu's topic in Out of New York Hunting
I have to ask where does all the deer damage happen. My property is in 8P. One of the biggest AG districts around. The farmer I lease to doesn't come around crying to me the deer are killing his living. He does tell us he has permits but I wouldn't use them. As far as I'm concerned I see more damage done by a sow with 3 cubs then a by the deer. I guess when the farmer outright owns the land he would rather kill anything that may come between him and a profit? Totally legal but under their (farmer) discretion. -
Pretty neat place Joe. Actually that would make for a real nice still shot. We are producing our "Best Places to Live" issue this month. Many pictures that are taken look just like that. Great place in this heat!

After posting that last bit of information I thought about the safety class. I guess you can buy the license but it is not active until you take the class at the appropriate age?

My god daughter's son who is 3 just got one. She paid 300 bucks for it. What an investment.

Don't know? Will the compete with the deer for food, how would that work out? Is the Daks a suitable place for them to live, don't they need a lot of grazing areas to survive? I would love to hear the sound of Elk in the distance but they are one big animal up close.

So cool! Looks like your doing 20 second videos? I have mine set for 15, what do you think?
-
Very nice Sam. How many seconds you have the cam on to take video. I have mine set up for 15 seconds. What do you think?
-
Paula do it online if you have access? I buy mine all the time online and it works out great.

Awesome thanks.

I have it.

It's amazing the year is 2013 and what I'm hearing from my black and white friends. This race thing will never end................

Amazing video. Just goes to show you how fast they run and how quickly they can go up a tree. My property has a lot of bear and I will not go into the woods without a sidearm. Last year I saw 3 adults and 3 cubs in one afternoon sit. Last week my girls and I saw one at 3pm eating berries along our power lines.

Nice pictures, are you doing any video? I switched both cams to video and will check them in 3 weeks. That article that was posted about pictures vs video really made sense.

Nice looking deer!

I need more, get back out there!

Not in good taste.

Amen Brother! It happened to me this week at camp. Found two Jerry cans he brought home from Korea. They are now in my shed at camp. You can't replace these old war vets, miss you Pop!

A lot less predator hunters out there, less of a safety issue is my take. Then again it only takes 1 time 1 bullet to cause an accident.

Those are nice! I have a Browning compound that goes way back. Thing is heavy. My FIL passed away a year ago at 81 and was a Korean war vet and huge hunter/fisherman. I know what your going through. It's nice to find old stuff of theirs hidden away.
