  1. John, Yes there is a lot of fields. That is corn all around the cabin. Behind me is a 20 acre field that borders my woods. I lease it out to a farmer that really knows what he is doing. He puts into the soil as much as he gets out, if you know what I mean. We put in some small food plots but with all those eats out there it's tough. My girls love it up there. We have plated over the years seedlings from NYS Saratoga nursery, each of my girls has planted their own area and calls it their woods. Sharing it with your kids completes the whole picture!
  2. Wow, glad your OK-don't know if the cam was worth your life though?
  3. He has some mass to him that the picture doesn't really show. Also those beams come way out up front. He just peeked over the 140 mark. Maybe this helps?
  4. Here is a long distance view of my place. About half way done with the extension on the left side (you can't see it it's an old picture). Should be done by start of bow season. Going to put a 30x40 barn off to the right, that should finish her off. Camp to me is so special sharing it with old friends and making new. It's also a wonderful place to bring my daughters and see them enjoy upstate country life. The tablets get put down, no internet and they make their own fun outside, called using your imagination. Remember those days?
  5. Good luck to you guys up there. Don't take any chances. 5-10 inches of rain is way too much for any area.
  6. Had a 100 year old oak taken down in the spring. The trunk was huge, too big to handle. we took all the limb wood and came away with about 4.5 chords. Glad I took it down before all the bad weather,
  7. I doubt the cross bronx but I have seen them very close on the Palisades Pkwy. Then again anything is possible.
  8. My brother just got his and won the lottery. We now have two DMP's for 8P.
  9. My best stand gets hunted the first weekend we are up at camp. It's a funnel and if conditions are right you see a ton of deer from it. Doesn't matter what time of season.
  10. Sit back in that recliner on a nice day would make for a nice nap!
  11. Eddie, Happy birthday, Enjoy the day!
  12. I enjoyed that, hell you can be eating an egg sandwich on the porch and blast one of those big bucks!
  13. Here a re a couple of mine. Last one i the biggest a 140 class buck. I have seen some big deer and have had the opportunity to shoot but missed. I missed a giant 150 at my BIL house and the same on my property. It's what keeps us coming back year after year.
  14. Those are some really cool picts. Don't know if I would be comfortable with my kids and those big bucks. Love to check it out.
  15. Nice mount, that is one trophy I hope to have hanging at the cabin one day.
  16. Honestly the big ones I have seen have been in the morning and late afternoon. That is not to say I don't think the big boys cruise at mid day. My percentages heavily outweigh mid-day.
  17. My boys on the cabin wall. The last photo is the 140 class buck was taken 2 years ago on the property by my brother. Fins to Feathers did the mount-real nice. Try this again. Deer on left 125 3/4 PY buck. Middle deer 4+ year old deer 21 3/4 spread. He actually had cardboard wadding from a shot in his skin. It was a lump on his leg I cut open and couldn't believe what was in there. He also had a mended broken front leg the joint was the size of a softball. Deer on the right was a 2.5 year old deer with a real unique rack. My friend shot this deer two weeks prior to me getting it. He hit it low below the stomach. Never did much damage. This is the deer I hit in the liver and found 7 hrs later. The only reason we found it was that the crows were starting to peck at the wound and were causing a ruckes and we investigated.

  19. Wooly, You never disappoint! Glad your back, I love the picts. That is some story about the fawn. I don't know something like that happen to me and I just may lay down my arms-yea I'm a softy.
