A couple of my buddies made huge ladder stands out of fence top rail almost a decade ago they've never been moved they are easily 200lb each was a sob standing them up.

I was in Tennessee work the wife and kids from the 26th-31st i had my eyes glued trying to catch a glimpse of a buck on a car or truck but i didn't see any. It was my first time to the smoky mountains and definitely wont be the last what a beautiful state.

What knife will you be using for hunting this year ?
Red replied to Hunter007's topic in General Chit Chat
I usually pick up a new $10-15 knife each year just brie the start of the season. For some reason i always lose my knives or after each season i use them at work. -
When i was younger and in high school i use to skip a lot of school in september and fish the wall at the foot of ontario i would take a light action rod and put bread on a hook and would nail a bass chub then cast that out into the current and nail small mouths left and right for the entire month of september. Big catch got in to the bottle return business and closed the fishing store sucks that was my go to store. For 20+ years you would see them dipping at the foot of ferry and ontario. They were also a great place to stop and ask how the action was in the area. Also during salmon season they would buy the fresh salmon eggs and skain for $2-3 a pound.

Keep in mind with most dump trailers you will also need air breaks but for what you are hauling i would definitely go with a dump trailer.

Have you or someone you know ever shot a deer with gang green
Red replied to rob-c's topic in Deer Hunting
About 10 years ago on a deer drive i had a spindly little 4 pt come running by i yelled out its small buck before i could finish my buddy fired off shot. The deer dropped instantly he said he had to put it down it was having trouble running. We looked the deer over it had at least 5 slug holes in the chest not including the one that my buddy put in the deers head. There was slimy ooze coming out of all the holes and its antlers fell off in our hands. This buck stunk so bad it couldn't even be gutted. -
Happy birthday get better soon.

You're welcome. That was a crazy story. Nuts that the man was able to stay conscious upside down for 2 days.

Years ago i would buy a bow from dicks or other hunting stores use for the season then return it . i did that for almost 10 yrs. The bow i use now parker legend xp I've had it for 8-10 years last year i stripped it down and placed everything on the bow to make it feel like i got a new bow. I don't see me getting rid of it its EZ cam is very smooth and easy on my shoulders. Plus its a very quite and light bow.

My kids caked me over to see one on a fence in a line at darien lake over the weekend.

I'm with you I am 37yrs old and have never shot over 60# and have had my bow set at 52# for over 10 years. Can i pull back 80# yes but definitely no need to. I also keep it at 52# because work puts a hurting on my shoulders and 52# goes right threw the deer just fine.

Before buying my really beat up rustic cabin i would keep a nylon hammock in my car while hunting it rolls up to the size of a softball. I would pick a tree next to a dirt road on state land toss it up and pass out. They are very comfortable and weight less than a pound.
