  1. According to Larry Potterfield of midway uSA. How many trail cameras do you need?? Answer, just one more !!
  2. for some reason I cant view them all I see are red X's where the pcitures should be.........
  3. BH209 I guess is a fan fav. With the hornady"s thanks for the help. One more question thou after first loading everything and in the field and don't get to shoot a deer can you unload the powder and sabot or do u have to shoot it? Can I just take out the breech plug and empty?
  4. is the blackhorn 209 in loose powder or pellet form?
  5. My buddy has a farm and has turkey problems. Each time I go there to hunt them I never see or hear anything. eventually I quit going after a few times. this year I havent gone at all . However I seen 3 big toms and a bunch of hens when I was helping out at his farm. We also found a active coyote den in the trench. they dug in the side wall of the trench and out on top. when we drove over to the den the mother ran in the opposite direction trying to get us away from her den of pups. I took my mag light and shined it in the hole and saw 4 or 5 sets of pup eyes looking at me. was pretty cool. I talked my buddy into keeping the yotes there and not shooting them because they will help out will the turkey problems.
  6. Just to point out that this thread is unrelated to the other one about the CVA wolf..... I decided that I am going to purchase my first muzzleloader, a CVA wolf 209 Magnum. and use .50 cal sabots. I wanted to get a consensis from people as to what powder/sabot gives the best groupings/ accuracy (which combimnation the gun "likes" the best). I will be deer hunting with it mainly and I think the pellets will suit my needs better in the field. Any suggestions on this and also a grain weight for the sabot? I will be shooting up to 100 yards max. I was alos thinki9ng of just using the fiber optics sights instead of mounting a scope. IDK why just to change it up I guess. I can always add the scope on later.
  7. nuts I cant view the photo. all I see is a box with a red X in in and some random letters and numbers
  8. that stinks but I wouldnt be surprised if your buddy neveer sees them again....

    Dogs

This is my dog Iron and my 14 month old son rolling all over him. 92 LBS and his back is approximatly to the center on my thigh. I am 6foot 1" tall he is 9 years young. Best dog ever. my kid can do anyhting to him and he doesnt care
  12. I try to hunt private as much as possible.. I feel state land is over crouded. especially during deer season... It just so happens that my friend owns 130 acres of farmland 15 minutes from me so.... plenty of turkey just not so much deer... I wish it was the other way around because Im not that big into turkey hunting. I just dont enjoy it as much as deer.. I know turkey are probably just as smart if not than smarter then deer and it is VERY challenging to bag one but it just doesnt make my adrenoline leak out of my ears like deer do. maybe something about them being small....;idk. Best advice is try to Roost them the night before if possible to see if you can get in a location where they ar at. you might not see or hear anything but they are in there... goodluck
  13. if any one here trys it out just dont get it mixed up with your bottle of doe urine. lol
  14. I was on groupon searching for bargains and tresures and stumbled upon an ad trying to sell 2 bottles of deer antler velvet spray. apparently the extract from the velvet had growth hormones that some use for bodybuilding. I looked up some info on it here is the link and I am including the link for the spray if any one wants to try is out lol..... http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-deer-antler-spray http://www.biosynergy.com/igf-1-deer-antler-velvet-extract-spray/ If I could look like this guy by using this spray without exercising then I would try it
  15. congrats. Im sure you will get a little time in the woods.
  16. I would think that the DEC wants to give every creature a chance to replenish themselves. Having these animals, pests or not gives the state $ for every license purchased.. Without or a lack of a certain animal the Coyote for example would make it hard to hunt and then people would do it less every year until populatons increase. Just my 2 cent theory.
  17. yea I thought it was a bicycle as well poeple dont refer to motorcycle drivers as cyclists.

    Broadheads

I ve also heard good things about the rockets as well. But never tried them. I have always had good experience with muzzy 3 blade fixed with trocar tip.. Was thinking about trying out a rage product in the near future. the possibilities are endless goodluck!!
  19. yes congrats!! I strongly believe that you rest the best when u nap in the woods rather then home.
  20. love how my original thread quickly changed. sounds like the start to another xbow/vertical bow debate. can someone please close this thread I dont want to get notification post reply's for a debate.
  21. in my area the next few weeks when the fawns start following the doe we usually see MANY fawn roadkills.... its unfortunate
  22. ok thanks I gues I didnt get the full information on crossbow use when it opened. I guess the last yeart was just an experiment. I hope this new bill passes.
  23. im not saying I would hunt with it but why tell others they cant... I dont think NYS would allow this to be use for hunting either especially if we are having a hard time being able to use a crossbow..... just saying you can have your opinion but shouldnt tell others they dont need it or shouldnt.
  24. My buddy and I were just at the Gander mountain in middletown NY and the staff at the bow/crossbow dept were spreading word to customers that as of this year crossbow use for hunting was Illegal..... does anyone knowof any updates or if this is true or false????
