  1. Shrade is good, +1 on Rapala
  2. Was getting a little slow around here, glad this one started to twitch again. So what's everyone's preferred type of lick anyway? I saw some out west cut mineral blocks in the Red Head catalog, they looked tempting.(now I'll go duck in the weeds for a while)
  3. If you link where Grow said and scroll down there is a table that explains more
  4. Range officer in Islip would do that all the time. Old retired guy, liked the company off times.
  5. well, got back from 3A, Livingston Manor had a small flood again, water running all over the property, Willowemoc looked like coffee. And, best of all someone stole my trailcam. Saw some small to medium deer on the roadsides, all this year or last year's. No racks, no size, no turkey, no bear.
  6. Will you be tanning them yourself?
  7. Finally getting around to the camp today to check stands and cams. Hopefully both are still there.
  8. A lot of that and a lot worse going on. I know of a guy that went to buy a new bow and he held it right handed, then left handed, salesman said what are you doing, guy responds I shoot both ways. Salesman put the bow back in the rack and said buh-bye. I quit bowhunting for exactly the reason you state, I didn't have enough time to practice anymore and wouldn't risk a bad shot. So I sold all my gear.
  9. Gotcha, I've only used Pyrodex and was curious if there was some technical thing like corrosion that was different. The other powders burn slower and give a different push rather than kick recoil?
  10. I've been hunting with my uncle's 300 Savage since I was 16. The hard part is what to do with them when I pass along. Grandkids ain't into it.
  11. I did the bottle and stuff for a long time and would walk 200 yds from my stand to take a dump. Two brother in my club have a bucket under a milk crate with a toilet seat on it and dump and pee away. Its 50 yds from their stand and they get as many shots as I do. That's in hardwoods Now that I'm hunting farm land and there is constant activity like smoking, peeing, dumping, chainsaw, 4X4s all around, I don't think they care
  12. Longest journey starts with a single step, expand it to every county
  13. I'm thinking small crown roast with mint and mashed potatoes, side salad, glass of Merlot followed by home-made cherry pie
  14. Bubba, curious, what don't you like about Pyrodex?
  15. I had some kind of rat in my treestand once. In the dark that wasn't fun
  16. Greene you ar 1393 I believe I saw. When you click on your name, look up top at the address bar where you put in URLs.
  17. Man that was the find of the century, enjoy it Bubba
  18. One year I hunted archery every weekend and even planned bow hunting opening weekend. This was when rifle opened Monday. I drive up to teh club and my father was already there and in a fowl mood. He expected me to bring my cousin Joe with me but, Joe changed plans. He still wasn't hearing it. I unpack my car and realized I left all my rifle clothes and gear in my 2nd bedroom. He went ballistic. I called Joe and said do me a favor and stop by the house and pick up my stuff. Problem solved.
  19. Grouse always get my heart going when you step on them in the dark. And kicking deer out of beds in the dark. They let you walk right onto them. Never had coon fights, I think I'd have to go back and change my shorts. Like Law said, eggs fried in bacon grease with pancakes are scary. Only get about 100 yards before I get the urge.
  20. And now a word from our sponsor...Ronco Industries Now you can buy 20 acres in Mexico with a salt lick for only $19.99. Yes that's $19.99, plus shipping and handling. Call 1-800-RONCO.
