I've been a bit busy as of late Dan, otherwise I'd be ready to go by now. Hopefully no hiccups at the range and she shoots true. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Yes, you need a hunting permit for Sterling Forest, $5 at the office. At this point, you won't be able to hunt the opening weekend due to registering late. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I'm beginning to think it's only you that hates everyone else. Dude, relax, just hunt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Poor S2k. Sorry about your boat as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Only happens when you take human error into account or if the wind likes to play games only when the shooter is shooting a different distance from before. I suppose this could be true if the shooter was playing with his scope while shooting 300 yards trying to get it to hit a specific mark. Either way, it's physically impossible for a consistent rifle to shoot 1 MOA at 100 yards and then go to 2-4 MOA at 300 yards. 1 MOA is 1 MOA is 1 MOA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Whisker biscuit of course? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Linking an article that is titled terminal ballistics with a bunch of junk in there that talks about human error and human condition versus the true potential of a rifle at a range isn't a realistic discussion about rifle performance and accuracy. I'm with Bob, check your math again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I'm holding out for the pics of moose and mountain lion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Sticking to the topic, about ammunition selection, here's what I did when I was purchasing factory ammo for my CF. I would only look at hunting ammunition and not self defense or FMJ type of ammo. If the ammo didn't have terminal performance on game, I didn't want to waste my time with it. Then I looked at price as I enjoy shooting at the range, so long term price of ammo was important to me. I then gradually went up in price in search of a factory load that met my personal requirements. Unfortunately, my pursuit led me to spending a ton on factory ammo and have since started to reload. My search for a load that would satisfy my personal preference in a game round has led me to purchasing many Nosler, Sierra, Hornady, Barnes, etc game bullets. Each bullet purchased is intended to be used on game and research has shown the terminal performance of each of these bullets should perform. From there, the search for a load I am satisfied with begins. I'll never have to worry about a round that won't perform terminally because I start with only bullets that perform. Weather or not I find a load that I'm satisfied with is a different story. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. We all hunt a little differently, nothing wrong with tailoring your equipment to maximize your efficiency the way you prefer to hunt. Although I'm more about accuracy, doesn't mean that I need to disagree with your tactics. But rather, we should all have a mutual respect for each other's hunting style, as long as its legal. 18. That's funny, I just bought my first NY Strip from Costco and got a great deal on it. USDA Prime, regular price of $10.99/lb but I probably got it for roughly $5-6/lb. Also had a Food Saver brand vac sealer on sale, so I picked one up as well and put 10 out of the 12 steaks away with it. I cut it myself to 1.5" thick each. I wasn't quite impressed with the sealer, felt like it left too many air pockets vs my food wrap method. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Using technology to recover a deer, awesome! Sucks that your flashlights failed you when you needed them most. I carry lights that can easily last over 24hrs. Technology of flashlights have come a long way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. When this happens to me, I generally turn on National Geographic's or porn, not in that particular order. That, or a trip up to Montreal does the trick too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. This sounds like an accessory belt/serpentine. Sounds like you have a worn bearing somewhere or a misaligned pulley. Listen for a bad bearing or wiggle all the pulleys for play with the belt off. Generally, OEM replacement parts are not the issue, but aftermarket parts may not be to spec and cause this. 23. Do you know the approx weight of one of these motors? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yes, too hot and the brass will lose its strength and separate upon firing. Especially dangerous by the head because the pressure there is towards the bolt, vs the neck where the pressure is generally towards the chamber walls. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
