Did the O-ring thing and switched to some Winchester 55gr. ammo....Resting the gun on the forend and not the barrel made a big difference. Me and the boy got it into about an inch at 100 yrds,. Thanks for all the help!!... It worked!!

My first rifle was a Marlin 336 sc in 35 rem, Bought it off my dads golfing buddy for $90. Sold it a few years later to buy a bolt gun. To this day I'm sorry I ever sold it. That gun was sweet. The one buck I did shoot with it went down like a ton of bricks. Reliable, accurate,light cheap ammo. It had it all, I'm an idiot!!!

In my younger days I would hit opening day no matter what..But after 20+ years of "amature hour" I learned to wait a couple weeks. The crowd dies.. less non fishing types and morons who think they're the cats A$$ because they caught ( and kept) a bunch of 6" stockies. BUT YEAH!! CANT WAIT!!

If you want to take it out I say go for it...Just make sure you put a good hit on the deer, and expect a very small blood trail. It will work

yeah... I've hade good luck so far with the Mobil-1, 0-40 but I'm a little leery about switching weights. If I have to buy the Polaris stuff I guess I will, Its just that the dealers charge so much more. I can get Mobil and a NAPA gold filter for about $22

The owners manual for my 07 Polaris 700 efi calls for 0w-40 synthetic oil. I've been using Mobil-1 0-40 since I bought it but the stuff is getting harder and harder to find. I was in wally world the other day, they didnt have the Mobil 0-40 but had Rotella 5-40 synthetic. Could I use this stuff instead?

I never heard of jelly head chokes. How much do they go for??

I tried a few and didnt see much difference from the factory choke. I finally tried one made by Tru-Glow and it made way tighter patterns. I think it was only about $25. Set an empty beer can on a stick at what ever you feel your max. range is and take a shot. If you get 5 or 6 good hits you're ready to go

Years ago ..me and a friend went on a guided hunt in Maine. It was on thousands of acres of property (no fences) owned by a paper company. We ( and the guide) hunted our A$$es off for 5 full days. My buddy shot an "OK" seven point and I got nothing, although I passed on severeal does and scrub bucks. Other than those deer I did'nt see any big racked deer that these Jokers pass up on a regular basis....LOL Lets see those "TV" guys go up there and pull off a TV show!! Wont Happen!!!!

Damn shame. One limped accross the road in front of my truck last week but she didnt look as gaunt as this one.

I used one for a few years. It will kill any deer but makes a very small hole and often dosent exit. So theres not much of a blood trail if any at all. I switched to a 7mm-08

To me the whole point is we're paying this piece of crap a monthly check for rent but he's just gaming the system and spending the money on himself. How many pieces of crap like him are out there??? Yeah... those Marlins are hard to find now..They only made them for a few years (2 or 3) and at the time they were cheap...They were developed as a Police carbine but never caught on....If you can find one at a good price grab it..

Brought it out today and it was pretty sweet. Just used the iron sights and at 50yrds it was pretty good. No jams no nothing. 80 rounds. I'll put better sights on it (aim point....scope) dont know yet. ny hunter is a genius

Yeah.. I try to watch for that same reason (entertainment) but its so corny and fake looking I just can't watch. They all hunt on deer zoos.. It's gay!!! (NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE) IMHO
