  1. Im way behind….Still have stands to set and clear. We still have spots to mow but my buddies brush hog is down and out. Might have to rent one. Im getting there tho….
  2. Congrats….Not trying to rub it in but I won $2 on a scratch off today…Soooo...
  3. Sorry to hear….As much of a pain in the a$$ it is to haul stuff back and forth, thats exactly what I would do. Don't leave anything there. Leave the curtains wide open so the inbreds can see there is nothing there. I might even leave the door unlocked.
  4. Glad you're at least able to replace some of your guns….Oh how I hate filthy scumbag thieves …especially burglars. First offense for a home Burglary should be at least 10 years minimum unless of course the puss ridden piece of filth is shot and killed by the home owner , in the course of the criminals filthy act….. Im rambling….Sorry. The Ruger American is a top notch rifle. I think it ranks above the Savage Axis , or any entry level rifle. I have one and I know 4 other guys that have them….You can't go wrong. Good Luck..
  5. Someone told me that all the blood and gut crap washes right off with soap and water…..Is that true or was he just pulling my leg????? LOL!!
  6. I carry a big wad of paper towels in my pack….comes in handy in more ways than one.
  7. If I was looking for a light, fast handling rifle, that is capable of quick follow up shots, out to 150 yds I would go for a lever action. Marlin 336, Winchester 94. Even better a vintage Savage 99 or Winchester 88. Rifles like these are light, quick and chambered in good 150 yard capable rounds.
  8. I have had a constant ringing in my right ear (tinnitus) for 30 years. I got it from shooting at a deer. You get use to it but its no fun.
  9. I dyed an old faded camo jacket last year. It was originally dark brown and black camo. It had faded to about the color of peanut butter. I used RIT? I think that was the name. Liquid dark brown dye. It worked great. I just followed the instructions. Don't use the washing machine method. It doesn't work half as good.
  10. Yes it does but screw it. After replacing sensors on a regular basis I didn't really care about the light being on.
  11. I have had 2 chevy's that had the ABS sensor problem.I would get it fixed and a year later it would go out again. On both trucks. I finally just pulled the ABS fuse (on both trucks) and just went with standard, old school, brakes.
  12. I have seen deer walk right by gut piles, maybe give a sniff or two and keep on their way with out spooking or even flinching. I don't think deer know what their own guts smell like.
  13. 3 blade = illegal. The 2 blades are more than enough though…. BIG NASTY HOLES
  14. ants

    Rage again

Yup.. two blades are fine but the three blades do not retract, once expanded. Barbed.
  15. If something breaks, because of rust and corrosion, then it needs to be replaced anyway. NY road salt just kills cars. car makers have come a long way in treating metal for rust prevention but salt is still salt. My friend buys cars down south and resells them here in NY. It is amazing how clean the undercarriage of a 10 year old southern car is, compared to a 2 or 3 year old NY car.
  16. This is a perfect example of how this sham of a law was meant to target honest gun owners. The law refers to flash suppressors not muzzle breaks. But could one of the kings goons say that the break is a flash suppressor and charge a person with a felony? Or say that it is in fact a muzzle break, but that the barrel is threaded?
  17. If you know for sure that he has cameras around his bait stand, then stroll over with a camera and make sure he gets shots of you taking photos of his illegal set up. I don't think you have to worry about him yelling trespass .
  18. I have an American in 25-06. I shot it for the first time a couple weeks ago. After sight in I got less than 1" groups at 100 yards with Hornady American White tail 117gr. I know a few guys who have these rifles and they all shoot great. One guy ,who has one in 308, uses the Federal Fusions. I think the Ruger American will shoot just about anything well. Start with the cheapest ammo. If it shoots well stick with it. If not then work your way up.
  19. Never got the whole "brush gun" thing. Brush will deflect all rifle rounds. If you're hunting in real thick stuff and shots will be under 50 yds. then use 12 ga slugs. They will deflect too but not as much IMHO. " A Flippen 12 gauge... what'a ya think ???"" LOL!! Most of you won't get that. … But its funny.
  20. Since they changed opening day to Oct. 1st.I don't even go until well after that. I just can't get into it that early. I am usually still hanging stands and trimming, the first week of Oct. I have the bow on the ATV but I don't actually hunt. That being said I think you're fine. I have hung stands in the morning and shot bucks out of them the same afternoon. When you set you stands, wear gloves and rubber boots. When you're done spray down the stand, tree and steps with scent killer.
  21. Glad you're OK. Go ahead and order new keys..Once you pay for them, its guaranteed that you will find the old ones.
  22. Oh..That was chaos..Bullets whizzing by other hunters, hunters not sure who was shooting, guys diving for cover.. guys shooting at bucks that are running across the top of a hill..Chaos . Even if it was several clips of different hunts strung together, it was several incidents of chaos. But hey they were all wearing orange..
