Sumer I walk about 3 miles a day. In the winter the local school has a walking program. I walk evenings there and according to their charts I do about 4 miles. Weekends I hit the bow flex a bit.

Since it is a traditional archery season, I will stick with my recuve for now. (Just kidding dont let the blood pressure go up) I have no interest in a compound or cross bow. I hunt very little during archery, and use a muzzleloader of some sort during early ml season and gun season 99 percent of the time. It will take hold, but I really think the cross bow impact will be minor. Look more to the young hunter who has not hunted yet with a compound to be more likely to jump on the crossbow band wagon. Bigger better faster theory. So far of all the people I have talked to, to include sites like this and face to face, I know of 2 who seriously plan to buy a crossbow.

I was over t here tonight. They are growin good, but the camera was home. I did have 2 deer in the hay field eating around the round bales and one nice doe in the small plot of beets. She didnt stay long, so I think she was just passing through. Next trip I will bring the camera.

no not free. it does not count as a sold license, so no federal funds from pitman robertson. But 5 bucks is enough for all of it

My only payment at this time is my truck. One more year and it is paid off. I decided not to take the retirement, so they are laying off a counselor who has been there for 2 years and has 2 small kids. Sure makes me feel like crap. But in a coulple years I can walk with much less on my mind.

Bubba ---- You had better check around and make surre no one has dug up those coffee cans filled with money ! : Ed I never said I had coffee cans of cash. I have a safe lol. It sure isnt enough to live on the rest of my life, or even 6 months but it is enough to buy some guns and ammo to get what I need.

which is xactly why I have had an ira for years and oh some cash lying around.

sure they do. If you sign up for the online class, it has to be offered by an instructor. So the child has the instructors information and can contact them with questions. As far as the classes being offered at times that are convenient, there is no answer. I have been an instructor for 24 years, almost 25. I used to do day classes as I worked evenings. I filled those classes. I have had classes in mid summer when high school kids had more free time. They were never attended well. Every one wants the class 2 weeks before deer season and want their kids excused from the classes due to school activities, or get mad when the classes fill up and gripe at me they can never find a class. I had a class in April during school break this spring. I had 8 yes 8 people attend and 5 were adults. I guess if you want a certificate bad enough, you can make it a priority for a week. We used to do after school classes 2 hours nce a week at school. With new rules etc, you can not bring a gun to class in a school. The majority of the class now is on DVD. However the instructors have the dvd's and I am not going to hand them out to not get them back.

I was offered an early retirement and eliminate my position by attrition. I have until the end of the month to decide. A pretty good package, but I am on the fence yet.

yesterday morning I paid 3.64 a gallon cash price. On my way home at 7pm same station was 3.77. They raise it up 75 cents, everyone gripes, they lower it 50 everyone shuts up. Umm it is on the way bak up again to slide in just a bit further.

too bad they do not sell them in bulk

Rob just as an fyi, Hornady SSt's are the same bullet as shock waves. Hornady makes both. The ony difference is the color of the tip. I shoot my NEF sidekick mostly. I also have the metrics unlimited plug as well as shoot blackhorn 209. I weigh my charges to 60 gr by weight, which is just about 87 volume. I use harvestor crush rib sabots as well as a lead bullet I mold 250 graind round nose .429 and w209 primers. This cuts back on cost considerably. I also have acquired a T/C impact, which I so far like, but it is not the shooter the NEF is. Both have a scope mounted Nikon buckmasters 3x9x40. Overkill for the ML, but I prefer overkill to underkill. I live in rifle country, but use the ml almost exclusively. I also have a t/c hawken I have owned since 1978. 80 grains of goex ffg black powder and a patched round ball and a T/c tang peep sight. During the special season, I use it to make it more primitive. I have been shooting a lot lately, as it is one of the best stress relievers I know. I have been dabbling in mlers since 78, and really it is my go to way to hunt.

how many drop a grand or more on a quality firearm or 800 on a quality muzzleloader? You dont need a 1500 dollar crossbow to get the job done.
-
yes they will raise sales tax. We are goig to pay one way or another

Lol.... what is supposed to happen in the next two years that will eliminate resistance? the current regulations are for two years. When they see the response to the use and have pressure to put its use in the archery season, it will go there regardless of resistance. it is simple babty steps give it to us a little ata time.
-
they got in the gun season first as it was the place of least resistance. It will expand into archery in 2 years. Anyone care to make a wager with me? anyone? anyone?

those who do not have anything to add to the discussion call names and things like that. Whether you like it or not they will be legal in archery season very soon and the reason money simple as that regardless of your rants about guns verses bows.
-
so were all the other upgrades, get used to it
-
So I gues you are saying there were no 133 pound deer before ar? If you eat 99 percent venison, yu must not eat a lot of meat in a year, or you must take illegal deer. Just my humble opinion. At best 4 or 5 deer a year will not stretch a year if yo ueat it all the time.

compound bows were not allowed in the original archery seasons either, now they are. neither were inline muzzleloaders, scopes on mlers. Only patched round balls and flint or #11 caps. So what is you point? things change get used to it.
-
I know you all realize this, but the original cross bow was used before the long bow, which actually makes it more primitive. Granted it has evolved since then into a more modern user friendly cross BOW, but so has the long bow. Funny no one thinks of a compound with let off and sites as unfair, but something new comes along and poof it is newfanfled and unfair. It will not give any hunter an advantage as far as distance or killing power. Wanna try real archery, get a recurve and shoot instinct and then tell me a compound is no avantage. You may as well get used to it, the cross bow will be used in archery season soon, like it or not. I personally dont like it, but I dont like compounds either

ok so if they get their wives kids etc to buy a license for a dmp, more licenses are sold which means more money for the state two ways both state and federal. It is licenses that were not sold before, and in a back door way, the state can say hunting numbers are up. Nothing illegal about it except you can only have 2 dmp signed over to you in a season, so if they have more, they are breaking the law. If they are breaking the law report it.
