Wonder if some of you with more experience fishing in and around buffalo area can help me out?! Was thinking of going out for trout opener tomorrow, but after looking at the reg's I'm a bit confused ... Is it a limit or catch and release in that area, fly only ? Been out a few times in some of my state land spots , one night hunt n 2 morning ... No luck so far , but I've got two other pieces of state land that I've either bumped em on more than one occasion or seen a bunch a tracks during deer season .... Last one I made was great ! Coated all side of meat with olive oil, salt , pepper, garlic powder , and a little chipotle chilli powder. Stuffed with arugula, spinach , fresh basil , finely minced raw garlic , and goat cheese. Cooked same way you did it .... Touchy though to get a nice med rare throughout ... Well that's it for me ... Almost smoked a doe with the pole but the wind had other plans .... I was putting pressure on the trigger n the stupid spike bolted n the doe's followed ... Oh well ... Decided to eat too much and have one too many drinks tonight , sleep in , and start the count down till turkey .... Have to work Tuesday .... Will be out for the dam yote's though ... The two days we had snow I cut a bunch of tracks !!!! Even came up on a drag in the snow probly 30 ft long and at the end of it .... A gut pile.... With yote tracks all around it ... Beautiful morning .... Calm and still , but nothing yet ... Deer are grouped up here in 9h , bumped about 9 or 10 deer yesterday on the way out .... Man did I lose some lb's trompin around up some pretty steep mountains .... Perfect amount of snow , windy as hell though ... Lots of fresh tracks from last night , a few from this morning .... Met up with two guys that had just seen a group of 8 deer run off .... We pushed a couple areas , and spread out n walked the ridges , only one other fresh pair of boot tracks we came across ... Also came up on a drag in the snow and then a guy pile with yote tracks everywhere ... We must have bumped them off it as we came through .... Little shady goin down some of the hills but we'll see what a day of stalking in the white stuff with the smoke pole will produce , have and either sex and doe tag left so all is fair game ....
