Welcome. You can pick up some info here, but NYS hunting website is good for learning about public land access and seasons. I also believe you can find NY fish & game magazine online. Other than NYC, there are plenty of public land opportunities in NY.

Ever lose darn near all of your hunting stuff?
PWGUNNY replied to phade's topic in General Chit Chat
Yikes. Sorry about the bad news. Good luck with the repairs. -
I will repeat some of the things I read above and agree with. Keep the whisker biscuit. Get a matching dozen set of arrows that are recommended by your pro shop. It is all about consistency when shooting and your arrows must match. Don't over estimate the need for more power. Your bow will get the job done, but you need to be accurate. You have a very good bow by the way. That is the one I bought for my son. Good luck.

Those repeat buyers are likely buying to resell. They make a few bucks on each box. Some buy and resell to their LGS. This is part of the problem. I'm fed up and am now buying a press to start reloading my own pistol ammo, but now I can't find primers. Powder is scarce too.

Ahhh, the one that got away... Sounds like a good time. Thanks for posting.

I love Cabela's. By far, my favorite store. Building way upstate will only hurt me with sales tax on my internet order. It would be nice if they put in a mega-store or an outpost store at least somewhere close to LI. Monticello area or near Woodbury Commons.

Is it too late for Andy's mom to have a"late term"abortion?

That's my brand too. Cafe Bustelo is high test coffee, like drinking espresso. I can't stand weak coffee like that Dunkin crap.

I have a QAD drop rest and it has been flawless during plenty of shooting over the past 2 years. I think the Whisker Biscuit is a great hunting sight in terms of price, function, simplicity. I only went to the QAD for slightly better accuracy in terms of target shooting.

Looking for some lost guns near Sackets Harbor

Great news. I was really feeling bad for the guy, nice to see this posting had a happy ending.. -
RIght Cyclist is a bicycle rider. I had an extremely close call on my motorcycle 2 years ago near my house in PA. A doe came right out in front of me as I rounded a twisty curve. I managed to keep the bike upright and get back in my lane before hitting a guard rail or an oncoming car. I could have slapped the deer on the rump as I skidded past. I don't take that road on the bike anymore and am always more cautious during late afternoons.

14 year old kid - Best bang for the buck bow setup
PWGUNNY replied to jkzfixme's topic in Bow Hunting
Triple that. Reasons why: Fully and easily adjustable draw length. Quality shooter, better chance of keeping him interested if he is performing well. If you decide it's not for him, you can sell this bow easily for pretty much what you pay for it. This bow and the Mission Craze are the bows in demand for the younger shooter. I bought my 14y.o. son this bow. -
Different arrows will definitely affect your accuracy. I always buy arrows a dozen at a time and always shoot the same exact arrows. An arrow flight is very sensitive and will magnify more over greater distances. Your anchor point should always remain constant, but waht can affect your groups is if you are gripping the bow too tight and torquing on release. It is hard to realize that you are doing this, but something to focus on especially affecting your miss on windage. If you get different weight arrows into a tight group, then you're doing something wrong because that shouldn't happen.

Things must be improving. I went to Dick's to get my son a new tennis racquet and I said let's just go upstairs and see if there's ammo. Figured I was wasting my time. Asked for 9mm's or .22's and I was shocked when the kid said he had 2 choice of 9mm but no .22's. I bought 3 boxes of Remington FMJ 115 gr [email protected]. Well that's a start, first time they had ammo in the past 6 visits.

Good for him. The shot is over in a moment, but the bragging can go on for many years.

Humorous, but NOT TRUE.

I sent an email to Cuomo last night. I expressed my thoughts on how law abiding gun owners are paying the penalty for the actions of criminals. I also explained how his 10rd magazine limit was creating major problems he should be aware of. It went as such: I am currently a licensed, responsible gun owner. I belong to a local gun club where I enjoy target shooting. I am being forced to seek out 10rd mags for my guns to be compliant with the safe act. Most pistols are issued in the US with 17rd or 12rd mags. There is a huge shortage of 10rd mags and opportunists are selling these at double the MSRP. Why not allow us to have the mags that are typically issued with the pistols as your law still limits us to 10 rds maximum at ranges? My last question puts Cuomo in situation of having to admit that laws don't matter to criminals or agree that the limit of rounds loaded should nullify the 10rd Magazine law. I also realize this email will most likely never reach him nor improve our situation.

I would confiscate every bit of that offending weed and take it home for further investigation.

I did go on there over the weekend to get some advice on which glue to use for fletching. In the past I used Goat Tuff and didn't have a good experience. It might have been the glue, the Fusion Vanes I was trying, or just my fletching skills. This time I went with the LocTite Gel control glue and back to blazer vanes. I fletched up a dozen arrows and they held up fine. The Loctite gel glue is great stuff.

I was on AT frequently, it's a great site. I haven't really been on lately, I've got all the equipment I need right now and am currently obsessed with handguns.
