  1. Welcome to the site. Good to see some other LI people on the boards.
  2. I checked out the M&P 22 on the Smith and Wesson website. There is a California compliant version of the pistol which does not have a threaded barrel. Just in case anyone was looking to get an M&P in NY.
  3. Not sure about the threaded barrel issue. I'll have to look into that.
  4. I received some .22 cal ammo from Cabela's about 3 weeks ago to Long Island zip.
  5. I'm considering one of these also. The choice is the SR22 or the S&W MP22. I have the MP9mm so I'm thinking about getting it's little brother. Hancock45 does an extensive review on the Ruger SR22 on youtube. He's seems to really enjoy the pistol and looked like he couldn't put it down.
  6. I fish from a Hobie Mirage Kayak every weekend. It cost more but I love using the pedals and not needing to paddle. It is a very stable platform and I've fished it for 7 years without a tipover. I keep it at Big Bass Lake in the Poconos where my vacation home is. The fishing is great there, lots of good largemouth. Here's last weeks big bass.
  7. I can dip them in cotton candy for you! LOL. What a Dad will do for his little girl just to please her.
  8. When I bought these bows for my children, I had a pretty good suspicion that their interest would be fleeting. I made sure I bought them the best bows for their age for 2 reasons. If they shoot well, they'll enjoy it and I'll be able to resell easily. They did shoot well but they just aren't into it. It kills me that I can't get my son or daughter into guns, hunting, archery or fishing.
  9. One of the best bows to buy for a young archer. These are adjustable in draw length and weight. Bow is like new. Diamond Edge Compound bow RH with case, tru-fire release and arrows. Adjustable draw from 26"-31" Adjustable weight 20lbs-50lbs quiver, peep, and whisker biscuit. Ready for target or hunting. Unfortunately I spent alot of money on getting my son and daughter into archery and it lasted one, very short season. $250 Oyster Bay 516-330-8726
  10. Complete setup. Nearly new pink camo Bear Apprentice II RH compound bow Fully adjustable 20-50lbs weight Adjustable draw 15"-27" length Includes pink Tru-fire release, case, bohning hip quiver, 10 arrows. Used 3x. Mint cond $250 516-330-8726 Oyster Bay
  11. I've done the drive about 30 times. I don't mind it at all, unless someone is clogging the left lane. The speed limit is 70mph in a few states, so that helps move things along. If you can get some time to visit Savannah, GA. I recommend it. It's not too far from I95 and it's a beautiful historic city. Really neat cemetery near the town square. Great architecture.
  12. Love the stern light.
  13. They still forgot to use subtitles for when she speaks.
  14. That cover makes me sick. It encourages others who seek martyrdom and notoriety. I never have or will buy their Rolling Rag, but I hope others not only boycott this issue, but all future issues. Hopefully this is the nail in their coffin.
  15. I tie him to the cargo rack of the ATV, like PAV said.
  16. Is he the President of America or Kenya? It would be great if only the people that voted for him would have to pay this crap. Lord knows I'd be exempt. He also pledged millions to enhance the electrical grid in Africa.
  17. Yes PA no longer requires wearing the backtag. I've been wearing my backtag while hunting for 35 years now, it doesn't bother me. It shows I paid my fee, and that I am a licensed hunter. The only tricky part is moving it from bird coat, to deer coat, to duck coat, to archery coat, etc.
  18. Yes, I remember that. There were additional details that were not in the newspapers. The incident happened at a Hasidic(Orthodox?) Community Camp. They believe the baby had food on it's clothes and it's face, which attracted the bear. You folks that live in the Catskills would be familiar with these types of communities and would probably agree that this is a plausible explanation. The communities I've seen were typically less than clean. The ones I used to see around White Lake were pretty disgusting.
  19. That bear was the second one in a week. The first bear was much smaller and it was a few streets over from my house. This is why no garbage is left out. All garbage is brought to the trash compactor by the main gate. People also discover that birdfeeders are also a bad idea. So far no attacks in our community and I haven't seen any missing dog posters either.
  20. This black bear was strolling down the road in front of my vacation home. The house is at Big Bass Lake in the Poconos. The area has a decent bear population. This one was walking right in the road at 8:30am. I was so excited, I nearly forgot to snap a cell phone pic.
  21. Last season was my first season using a climber. I have the summit viper. I really like it. I practiced two climbs with it prior to the season, so I wouldn't be wasting setup time in the woods at first light.
  22. 2008 Escalade-wife 2004 4Runner-mine 2007 Yamaha FZ-1 mine
  23. No blinders, no worries. Guys in my club are not using crossbows or pushing the issue to compete with them. They do divide the Compound into 2 subdivisions.
  24. My club has tournaments every weekend. It has two classes, traditional or compound. Crossbows are not allowed.
