  1. Nice- that second guy has peeled out of his fuzzy! That's exciting to see!
  2. My spot in the bleachers was right next to the local priest, so I had to be a good boy anyhow!
  3. Turn left... Turn left... Turn left... Turn left... Holland Speedway last night. I haven't been here in years. Couldn't figure out where the big crowd disappeared to until I found out a 6pck will run you $28.50!
  4. Sorry Paula, I think my account has been hacked by another member. I'd never say anything like that. ... but since I'm not having much luck so far, you wanna go hunting this year? HMU,lol
  5. I don't have a girlfriend so I sent ......robsG/F a PM but she hasn't gotten back to me yet since she got banned. Worst case scenario, I'll ask Paula if she wants to go out with me,lol
  6. Simple answer....the boob tube is corrupting our minds. Too many folks are being brainwashed in masses every second, of every day, instead of making "quality life" choices that affect themselves and everyone around them. Get outdoors away from the technology and don't look back. It's probably already too late to reverse the trend but what the hell, at least we can slow it down. Spend too much time outdoors and I'm sure the chem- trail chemicals will eventually take their toll on anything that drinks water. Mankind has no chance of survival when we are blind to the conditioning that's happening right before our very eyes. Doomsday is fast approaching, and a million rounds of stockpiled .22 ammo wont save ANYONE when population control is the objective. We're screwed.....! Just trying to reserve my spot in Papists bunker if TSHTF. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq9Gg7A-YEE
  7. Nniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiccce! Hope it tastes as good as it looks! Sample packs available to your forum friends?
  8. That's a really nice buck you hope to see make it through another season. I've seen a few like that, (boarderline) and unfortunately sometimes they step out and force you to make the decision for yourself in a matter of seconds. Some days they get to walk, and you feel good about it, only to kill them a few days older no matter how you felt about them in the first place. He could be a cranker next year, or he may not improve much at all... which is what bucks around here have a tendency of doing. I know, that you already know they don't ALL explode by giving them "another year or two", but I'd probably give that guy a pass this year too. Lookin' good though!
  9. If it 's any consolation to ANYONE.... I haven't clicked on ANY one of the links in this post yet. (and I have no intentions to) sorry for all the effort put into finding them. One thing I'll never do is base a rut hunt off someone elses observations since they're not seeing the same things I'm seeing. I'd hate for my own observations be clouded by what I "should be seeing" when I'm not ......and what "I am seeing" when "I shouldn't be" according to ...well...whoever knows better, lol Get out there and hunt the ruts many phases with all the different challenges it throws at you along the way. When you think you got it figured out..... face it,... you don't, but you may be one step closer to it so keep your eyes peeled. When you're still open to translating experiences and encounters to carry over into the next season is when the REAL learning begins. Sometimes this stuff takes time to sink in. Remember, some of us don't "LIVE" out there every day...., deer do. The more time you have to live in their world, the more you'll understand it.
  10. Vapers kick butt...!

  11. Given a little history with any piece of property, you may find that this frantic random chasing can be as predictable as your most worn deer trail. Witnessing it once from a distance is the first step to formulating a plan that may take years to perfect. If you're unwilling to make a move, you'll likely be missing out on some exciting hunts and instead just be watching deer franticly running around "off the trail" as you say. When I know there's hot doe in the area, I have several places on the property I want to be. Like clockwork, bucks use these areas to flush, isolate, and corral doe year after year. Being prepared and observant enough to put yourself in one of these areas when the time comes IS NOT something I'd call dumb luck rather a pattern that becomes obvious over a period of seasons. Trust me, the first time you have 5,10,20, or 30 bucks chase a hot doe past your ground stand, there will be plenty of opportunities even with your "trusty bow". Sometimes it's a matter of lifting your butt off the bucket, or climbing out of your stand to get in position for a shot. If you don't think THAT'S exciting.., or there's no skill involved to put you there in the first place then I don't know what to tell ya! As for the second sentence I bolded above, it has it's time and place as well in any hunters bag of tricks no doubt and many great bucks die every year to that tactic. My only point was, if you were unsuccessful in that phase, or chose to let a few marginal bucks walk during that period, well.., your hands might be tied when the rut shifts gears into the chase phase and action fizzles out around you.
  12. That's all I'd need to know! I'd say 2.5 though since that's what you asked for!
  13. Northern Freshwater Tarpon
  14. I had bought two of the electronic drippers last season that you could program up to 18 drip times on each that held 8oz of urine a piece. Since I was running cams over them, I made use of ALL different drip times over a couple of the hotter scrapes in the area. That really used up more scent than I was expecting it to pretty darn quick. Once my drippers were empty, I resorted to only manually freshening scrapes when I was hunting over them. They worked great for camming though!
  15. Dang, I always wondered what they were up to when they crawl behind the siding!

    Elmo

    Happy B-day Elmo!
  17. I already added a helpful link for all my haters to love on, but since we turned the page I'll post the posers thread again. http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/24872-robs-adventures/ This is where some of you are missing the point here completely. There's a chittin' ton of misinformation out there being handed out by anyone and their grandma pretending to be somebody they are not. I can't help what any of you choose to believe, but I'm not afraid to call out a poser when I see one. If you're offended by that, you may be a poser yourself, so you should back up your brother in posing, lol I have no clue about any of you besides what you get behind. Now that I see a few of you lining up behind.......rob, I know where you stand, and what your intentions are. Some guys know how to hunt...., and some guys have a following of guys that don't. Don't matter none to me who you are, but at least now I can put a name to the dork!
  18. I never pin pointed an actual date simply because I can't from one year to the next. When bucks lock down with their doe, (which is the time period I was talking about) it can happen in a matter of hours or minutes if you're there to witness it. The chasing will lead right into the lockdown in no time flat... often within a few hours of a hot doe getting corralled into a thicket. If you're not seeing it, then you may think you missed it completely, or it never happened. When I hear guys say the rut sucked last year, it really didn't. It happens the same way every year but if you don't see it, you wouldn't believe it. I've been very fortunate to witness this circus of rutting activity for several years in a row now to intimately understand how many of these rut phases blend into the next. It's certainly not the same dates around the state for each phase, but I got a pretty good understanding how things will unfold around here come "THE RUT"!
  19. Follow your mentor and he wont steer you wrong. Thanks for letting me know why everyone picks on me. Now I know it's because I'm smart, lol !
  20. Basically....., don't shoot a vehicle, a dwelling, or a pedestrian, and none of this will ever come into question.
  21. Well, I don't know why you all are picking on little ol' me. I tend to be rather truthfull in all my postings here whether you like it or not.... which is more than I can say for some. Here's the bum you all really like to believe in when it comes to "big woods adventures"......... Crack open a Bud Lime, grab your buddys butt, and hang on to the edge of your seat, lmao It get's pretty chaotic so hold on tight...... http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/24872-robs-adventures/
  22. This is also VERY true,(and a deceiving quote BTW) but it's gonna be a real tough sell to some since I don't have any #'s to back it up. How can the proverbial "best" time of the year be the "worst" as well... Hit or miss it by a few hours and you'll hold in your hands the all the secrets of the mighty whitey without ever learning a thing more than what you saw........ or didn't see. I don't even know how else to put it...
  23. I wouldn't be too upset with what I see here!
