  1. This deer hunting stuff is getting more complicated every year it seems....
  2. I don't get the Sportsman Channel, but I saw a couple clips on you tube. The trailer is pretty funny! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AobKUqhVFpU I've lost count of how many of my competitors I've killed over an antler over the years, lol Those are some bones that will NEVER be found! Just another dumb idea for reality tv that I'm sure will fail miserably.

    Squaw Island

Ha- What do you get after a long night with a squaw on an indian carpet.......? ......... a papoose, lol!
  4. I think he ran it over with a school bus...... I still see some yellow paint on it's leg that didn't come off in the bus wash!
  5. Holy mother of morels..... I never realized these things got so big. This one is obviously past it's prime as it was crawling with slugs so I just left it lay, but it's only my second morel find so I was still pretty excited that this may be turning into a hot spot! Just across the crick from my 1'st one last year.
  6. I was cutting some braches off a tree one time with the chainsaw about 16ft up a ladder. All of a sudden it felt like my ankle was ON FIRE! I knew I got "stung" by something and it hurt like all heck.... I thought for sure it was a hornet or bumble bee. I skipped every 5'th wrung on my way down after I launched the still running chainsaw to the ground below, but I was tempted bail with everything in hand without thinking! That could have been bad! When I finally hit the ground and shook off my boot, a FAT azz spider with a body the size of a quarter had fallen in to take a bite out of me. I don't know what the heck kind it was, and the pain went away after an hour or so, but the damn thing almost killed me. I promptly squashed him and got back to work!
  7. That's an African American albino garter-rattler..... very rare! Thanks for sharing!
  8. I've never been to an air show, but that looks pretty freakin' cool! Sweet pics!
  9. Oh man, congratulations! What a beautiful set! It's never too late to look for antlers! I'll send you my address so you can ship them off to me, thanks, lol
  10. Ahhhh, there he is! Must be looking for some fawns to drag back to the den! He looks kinda scrawny after a winter a filling up on carcasses. I saw one last week that looked like a woof!
  11. Linked up private for me eddie. Couldn't see it.
  12. That's why I like you guy so much! Nothing wong with getting a little goofy now and then. Thanks for the laughs, lol
  13. Sweet- I got it figured out now and I still ain't dronk! Coors Light.... such a waste of stomach space. It flows out fast as you pour it in. I ain't got none of that fancy stuff you guys are sippin' but I ain't got nothing against mixin' chum chit together, lol
  14. Alright, I was just joking about being that cocked. Now I need a magnifying glass to see the print here..... WTH did I do? I think I hit a button on the right but I can't find it now. If I had to blow right now I'd be somewhere between a negative -.08- +.100%, so I'm still good ,lol
  15. I'm just bored, lol It might not hurt to have a drunk post here for BB-Q days though. I've read some of those posts in the turkey forum, and DAMN.... I think I'll be seeing some company here soon, lol

  17. I think it might be time to shave a few of you hairy monsters down and get you to the vet for your annual flea dips, lol Maybe a nice new collar will help repel the blood suckers. I've only brought home 2 or 3 tics on me in my life, but I've killed a few deer that were infested with them in their ears and flicked a few off me in the woods. That's just another reason I like wearing shorts and t-shirt (or no shirt) afield throughout the spring and summer. You can feel every insect that crawls across your skin and whack 'em off before they sink their teeth in..... most of the time anyhow. The skeeters don't seem to mind ANY of the repellants anymore. It's almost like they are a new breed that is immune to anything I throw at them. I've never seen those "tiger misquitoes" around here until the last 3 or 4 years. Now they seem like the dominant bug over the smaller one's that used to chew on me.
  18. One of my favorite season watching the antlers grow throughout the summer. It's been a dry spring so far and that in combination with a hard winter might put a hurting on antler development in some areas this season. Looking forward to how it turns out for everyone. Hope some of the familiar faces from last year made it through and become recognizable over the next few weeks and months!
  19. The fox pups I was watching at the den this spring have already moved out. There will be a lot of young inexperienced fox getting splattered on the roadways now. They're trying to find their own food without momma fox, and they'll be out exploring new territory to call their own.
  20. What's everyone got planned for the Memorial Day weekend? I thought I was going to be house/cat sitting for my sister, but now that I'm here, I think I may have been scammed into a water softener re-build /install instead. Oh well, she has some sweet fresh bloody cow steaks thawing for me to grill up tonight and I need to gather up some logs for the big bon fire after the sun goes down. Make sure you take a minute this weekend to think about, and thank all the men and women who lost their lives so we can sit around and do whatever the hell we want this weekend. The flag's always flying here, but I try to look at this weekend a little differently than any other day of the year as I get a little older and understand history a little better now. Enjoy your "holiday" everybody! Many brave soldiers died on the battle field and wont get another chance to share in our celebrations. Here's to them!

    Waco

I think Paula is a biker gang member trying to stir up shitte, lol
  22. I've had really good luck locating in the past with crow calls, but not so much with hooters for shock gobbling. I don't use either much anymore unless I'm trying to get a gobbler I can already see to put on a bit of a show before I kill it. Nowadays I just pay more attention to picking out a quick set up before hitting my box call to locate. I don't like locators for a bird I'm working. If he's hung up out of sight I think locators have been over-used to the point where they may prevent a gobbler from closing the distance to your set-up when they smell a rat. When that happens I think the best thing to do is go silent anyhow and maybe catch up to him another day in a different mood or location instead of throwing everything in your vest at him. Gobbling has been very sporadic around me this year and it's become a true test of patience to let them sound off on their own. Some days I wish I had an elephant trumpet call just to break the silence I've been hearing so far.
  23. Great job behind the video camera, the DSLR...., AND the gun! Perfect execution in every aspect especially documenting the "hawk feather" and LIVE field photo! I enjoy your vids as much as DWOD's and I have no affiliation or reason to get excited with either. Top notch stuff once again Mr.ABH!
  24. Good excuse to buy a new one! Make sure you run it over when you're driving off to Cabelas to resist the temptation to keep it. That would have left a mark for sure.

    Turkey skull..

You got one in the works Terry? Mine is stuck on the end of an antler tip above my desk and still looking like the day I finished it. I thought for sure there would be some grease leaching through by now, but I guess turkey skulls aren't too oily.
