  1. I dont think you can get from Westchester to Suffolk without going throuh NYC...Unless you went the long way and took a ferry...I believe in a case, seperate from ammo, locked in the trunk would be good.
  2. I have been using the Leight electronic muffs for over 5 years. Never had a problem, rain, snow...You can turn them up for super hearing, but I usually adjust the volume to where my hearing is "normal."
  3. Negative. There was a thread about that a while ago. But the answer is also on the DEC website.
  4. It was shotguns, so the drop is significantly more than rifles. Aiming a few feet high, sounds like out to maybe 250 yards with a gun zeroed at 100? To far for a shotgun in my opinion. The wind will wreak havoc on a shotgun slug, and most Sabots as well. A slight breeze can move shotgun slugs feet at that range. Sounds like lobbing lead for deer..Fun on targets, but ineffective for hunting..
  5. Thats what it says. I have a couple, I use one at work, but mostly they are just a novelty.
  6. try this. http://knife-expert.com/ny.txt
  7. Man there is a big double standard when it comes to Republicans and Democrats. Caine hit a little bump with a woman...Bill Clinton? It just was not Monica if you remember..There was Jennifer Flowers, and a couple of others, did not slow him down at all. I liked Caine. He was no politican. He had an idea for reforming taxes. Wether that idea was perfect I do not know, but it could of been debated upon, changed if need be, in to SOMETHING better than we have now. I am no big Repub these days. But absolutely no fan of the current administration. They also crucified Sarah Palin. I did not get that one. They went after her with everything in the arsenal. As Gov. of Alaska, she went after coruption, and did a good job. Not such a bad thing. Of course she is not running... The rest of them? eh, better than Obama I guess.
  8. From what I have seen, it looks like the officer took bags of drugs out of the guys pocket, then put them down to search the inside of the car. Things are not always what they seem when you get a short video, and not the whole thing. http://www.wktv.com/news/local/Video-of-Utica-Police-traffic-stop-goes-viral-alleging-drug-planting-UPD-says-watch-the-full-video-136604293.html http://philly.barstoolsports.com/around-barstool/new-york-supercops-caught-planting-drugs-on-suspect-by-their-own-dash-camera/
  9. I like to fish. I do some fly fishing, but would not consider myself a fly fisherman..Never got to really know the bugs..I also bass fish for 10 days in June every year, been doing that for the past 20 something years. I combine scouting and hiking for new places to hunt. Taking care of the new camp takes up some time. I shoot a lot. I like pistol shooting up at the camp. Trigger time on the pistol is great fun, especially when the ammo is free. (My agency gives us practice ammo.) And it does help. Pistol shooting is what they call a "perishible skill," meaning that if you do not practice enough, you loose it somewhat. And last but not least, a lot of times my hobby is being lazy. Man, I love being lazy. Between work, and woking on some project at home or the camp, you get to appreciate those times that you do nothing. Absolutely nothing. I aint gonna do anything this weekend. I might do a lot of lying around in my unshowered filth, but that is about it. Maybe some eating, farting, drinking, snoozing..Thank god the season is over... But next week, I will go after some ducks!
  10. I love the map in the beggining. And the rest was good too. And that is comming from someone who generaly does not like hunting shows/videos...It had an element that made me feel like I was there. Maybe the lack of hard rock or country music...Good job!
  11. You hope hunters get shot? Brilliant. Unbelievable.
  12. The fact is if it is non posted, unimproved land, it would be legal to hunt.
  13. "You want want proof on my kill" Nope.
  14. Why would you post the same thing over and over?
  15. It is 1/2 acre. I put down 1000 lbs of pelletized lime (a little at a time througout the summer) and 200 lbs of 10-10-10. I have since learned that I should have used more nitrogen. But it came out pretty good anyway..
  16. I perfer to wear more layers, and a light jacket. Under Armor has proven itself to me. On those COLD days I wear cold gear under armor base layer, must be on your skin to work correctly (wicking) and a polar weight cabelas one piece. Through on a a wool jacket, wool socks. Never wear cotton against your skin when it is cold. That will save you some misery..For hands...My hands are always cold. What I have been doing now is cheating. I carry three pairs of gloves with me. (I do not like any bulky gloves) I put the chemical hand warmers in the gloves I am not wearing, and stuff them in an inside pocket. Then I change from the gloves I had on for a while, to a nice warm one. And it has the added benefit of warming your guts as well:)
  17. Yes first year. They hit mine right away, after the first couple of frosts. I heard that too, and my immediate area is forest, so I guess it all depends.
  18. Yeah Brassicas. They have been hitting it hard sice the first couple of frosts..I say the later they hit your plot the better. The more you will have left during those lean periods..(I think..)
  19. I think I will pick one up. 15.00 bucks, not to bad.
  20. Anyone use one of these? http://muzzledown.com/
  21. On mine, the primers stick if I use the o rings. I simply do not use the o ring, no problem.
  22. Deer still hitting the plot. And a buck showed up. Here is a photo.
  23. I have to say that I apologize for my post. I thought it was a random video being posted. It is much better than I could ever do, thats for sure.
