  1. Suburban bucks at their best. Probably less worn down from the rut too since they don't need to travel far. I had a group of 4 last week behind my house and two were studs. All hanging together.
  2. Never know - he may just show up again. I hope that's the case. Maybe wintering in FL as lots of retirees do.
  3. Welcome from a fellow rochesterian.
  4. It takes proper design to hit 200.
  5. 55g 30-06. What the heck is the velocity of that ammo?
  6. https://darntough.com/products/hunter-over-the-calf-extra-cushion?variant=30180653255 this is what I prefer for hunting. $30/pair. I think pretty warm but not overly bulky. Expensive but like Lawd said, once worn out just replace for new pair.
  7. I wear the same ones and have exchanged 2 pair for new. Didn’t know a store would swap. All the easier.
  8. I like trying to be at first set around 7:30 or so and end when we end. I also am generally an early riser so going to sleep at 3am is a tough next day.
  9. Fun night but no yotes called in. I did miss a fox on a long Hail Mary when he wouldn’t commit and then missed one I should have killed inside 100yds. I better be at the academy when it starts. Treeguy was too busy filming an owl that attacked the caller to care about the fox. Lol. Regardless still exciting. Did see a nice yote on wrong side of road when pulling into last set. But he saw us too.
  10. Starting with elk bugles tonight. Expecting a mountain lion encounter.
  11. They all look either white or black through the scope depending on which color scheme you choose. lol
  12. Haven't sighted the thermal in on that yet. Plus, I think I want something a bit more fur friendly just in case.
  13. First hunt of 2020 tonight. Heading to Geneseo. Predicting that @TreeGuy kills his long sought after black yote - or maybe not. Updates to follow for those bored sitting at home. Hoping to avoid the cow poop tonight, but welcome the real coyote cover scent.
  14. "gun misses by Me, TCIII, and Jeremy" Sounds like rifle and shotgun should be added to the academy. lol Not that I EVER miss - as confirmed by several still living yotes.
  15. That's pretty good G-Man. Of the group I hunted with, I think we killed 12 or 13 with about 1/2 being bucks (all but one on a small 30 acre piece). 3 killed their best or 2d best bucks . Plus we had 3 new hunters out at my place - each had a shot and one scored. Not bad at all.
  16. Definitely want zoom as it focuses and intensifies light which allows for scanning at greater distances.
  17. First thing treeguy told me was always always be scanning. Light on whole time and when you spot eyes stay on it. Then turn on kill light while scan light keeps blinding dog.
  18. They defy you to damage it and will cover any damage.
  19. For the price difference, tri color is nice. I use mine for tracking in deer season too. Talk to treeguy. I think he was interested in going form all red to tri color. Maybe you can work something out if you want only red. I think headlamp is much easier for scanning and worth it in addition to kill light. Scanning with the gun gets old (and probably is not as safe).
  20. Large main compartment with 6 or 7 other pockets.
